I was wondering if anyone hear could tell me how much shipping costs to ship souvenirs home from WDW. I know it depends on what you are shipping, so if anyone has different rates that would be great. Also, Can you ship from any store, when you checkout? and finally, can you gather up all the souvenirs of your trip and ship them at the end? If so where can you do this in WDW. I DONT WANT TO GO TO THE POST OFFICE, So I want the rates for shipping right from Disney. Thanks so much, i hope you can help:)

We shipped a large box of Lincoln Logs from Wilderness Lodge - probably 1 ft tall and 8 inches in diameter (cylinder shape) - we shipped to WA state and it cost us 9.95. I also shipped a tea set from the shop in China, it too cost 9.95 but the box was considerably smaller and lighter.

I took all my stuff over to UPS, and shipped a huge box from there. They supplied the box, packed it, and sent it, and it only ran about $35. They have a UPS over somewhere near Crossroads, left of there, and down a dead-end road, I think. It wasn't far, but I am sure that someone has much better directions than I just gave!:happytv:

Thanks so much, Does Anyone else have anymore information? Do you just tell them at check out that you want it shipped home?

I ususally bring along a couple pre-paid priority mail boxes or envelopes. You can shove as much as you can in them. You need two stamps on the boxes and you can find all the info on these boxes at the USPS website.

The only resort I've had a problem was BWV. They sent me to the convention center parcel center who doesn't use USPS. They felt sorry for me though and said they would drop the packages in their mail (which they did). At OKW I just walk up to concierge services and ask them to put them in their mail with no problem.

They have recently (since last Sept and before we were there in Feb) changed the shipping charges. Now they charge you based on the $$ spent, not the weight.

So if you buy a $200 item that weighs 6 oz, it will cost you more to ship than a $50 item that weighs 10 pounds. I think the charges are similar to the Disney Shopping website, which starts at $6.95 for anything under $20 or something. They add up all your receipts and charge you based on that.

You can ship via UPS/Fed Ex from Disney based on weight. The hotels that have business centers have this ability. We usually go to the BW. If you go to the Business Center, they take everything, pack it up, and ship it for you.

If you ship through the business center, this is pretty much like shipping direct through UPS or Fed Ex. Meaning if anything is broken, you would contact the company you used, NOT Disney. :)

The people at the Business Center do one heck of a packing job though. :thumbsup2

Great thanks, So if I just take all my stuff to the BW business center, they will box and ship it for me? i dont need the boxes? thanks

Yes they have boxes. They even found one to ship my DVC golf umbrella home in!

They do charge for the materials, but it is pretty cheap. We sent home 1 huge box and 1 smaller, but heavy, box in Feb and I think with the shipping, boxes and all, it was like $26.00.

Much cheaper than another suitcase or an overweight charge from the airline. :)

I was a little worried using UPS, since we have a sadistic UPS driver or something. Usually everything we get from them looks like he jumped on it before he dropped it off.

The boxes from Disney were a little dinged up, but they were packed so well that the CHristmas ornaments and 2 framed under glass sketches were in pristine condition.

THe staff over there is really nice, too. There is one CM, an older man, he was there in Sept and Feb and remembered the kids. They remembered him too....my DD calls him "the nicest man she ever met!" :)

The great thing that we've found when shipping items directly from stores at WDW is that you don't get charged sales tax. Now I don't know if it's non-tax because our stuff is shipped to New York, specifically, or just because it's shipped to areas outside of Florida.

Did you just tell them at checkout that you wanted it shipped? and they took it from there.

Jesse,

We just go shopping at say, World of Disney, grab all the stuff we want from all the departments and bring it up to the counter. We tell them we want it all shipped out of state and they have us fill out a short form with name, address, phone number, and email. Then they ring everything up on that form, give us a copy, and they bag all our stuff up to be shipped later that day or next. They package everything unbelievably well for shipping and if when you receive your box there is something broken, missing, or the wrong item was shipped then you just call the number on the form and they fix the problem right away! Just make sure you hold on to all your copies of shipping paperwork until you receive all your boxes and make sure to check off all your items on the sheet when you go through the boxes to make sure everything that should be there is. You can do this at any store on Disney property. We've done it at the Pirate store outside of Pirates of The Caribbean, at a store in Animal Kingdom, World of Disney, Wilderness Lodge Mercantile store, Once Upon a Toy, the Emporium, the art gallery at Epcot, 5&10 at MGM . . . . the list goes on and on. It's so convenient, and you don't have to worry about how to fly home with things that are fragile (we usually get lots of ornaments from the Christmas store at DTD)!!

2Princes is correct, it is based on dollar amount spent now and not weight. I think the cap is about $112?? I don't know but my mom and I pooled our shopping together for the AP discount and to get our items tax free and have them shipped back. It was around the $112 if I remember correctly.

Anyway, when you check out tell them you want them shipped home, if you live outside of FL, there will be no sales tax. Usually our items have beat us home, plus they are insured. Of course you could probably do it a bit cheaper by going to UPS.

I read somewhere a while back the breakdown of the shipping charges but for the life of me I can't find it right now.
