Has anyone shipped (via ups or mail) to the AKL ? Is this something that can be done? I would imagine I can just call the resort and ask, but I wanted to see if anyone else has ever done this.
I was thinking of shipping down the baby's dipers and maybe even some water bottles.
If so, what ar some other item that could be shipped ahead of time?

Thanks in advance!!

I haven't done this, but it actually worked out on our first two trips when DS was still in diapers. We packed a bunch--more on the second trip because we ran out on the first trip (he got a , um, virus and went through a lot  ). The upside was we had all that room on the way home for things we had bought on the trip!
Make sure you have enough --10 diapers at MK was $7 in 2000.

A trip to Walmart once we're there usually works out cheaper for us than packing or shipping extra. Good luck!

We went to WL in September and shipped our video and digital cameras there ahead of time. I just called the resort and asked them for their mailing address, let them know the dates we'd be staying there, and asked them to hold the package until we checked in. We sent the package to ourselves, c/o the WL. We put a duplicate address label inside the package just in case anything happened to the label on the package. We used FedEx and it was surprisingly affordable.

Why did we do this? We weren't sure if we'd be able to take them as airport carryons, and we weren't willing to let them be checked in as luggage. (We packed a cell phone in luggage once before, and the bag just disappeared...it's likely it was stolen by an airport employee.) This worked out very well for us.

I agree with the theory of buy it when you get there. I packed only enough diapers for the plane ride (always with a couple extra), and then we stopped at Publix and got diapers and formula. Somebody that's a salesperson for my co. to Publix told me that Huggies makes the Publix private label diapers...they were outstanding (don't know if that's still true). We also got an okay deal on formula. They had little 8 oz cans of pre-made formula - just pop the top and pour. You can't get much more convenient....they must be a tourist-area thing, I had never seen them in Kansas!

We also bought our week supply of diapers and milk once we got down to WDW. We took enough diapers on the plane to last us two days or more but bought the bulk of them down there. We like to buy bottled water and snack foods too.

We shipped to the hotel in advance. Diapers are very easy to pack (you don't have to worry about breakage) and since they are light, the postage was minimal. I understand that some people like to stop and buy them on the way but often, by the time we got into Orlando, we were so tired and sooooo anxious to get to the hotel that any stops (no matter how brief) seemed like a real pain!
