I am considering doing this for the first time due to limited space in our vehicle for the 20 hour drive.
I have read a lot about this on here but I haven't found anything about reliability.
Has anyone ever had their package lost? We are going for 11 days so basically all of our summer clothing would be in the box. If it were to be lost not only would we not have any clothing for the trip but we would have to replace entire summer wardrobes x 4 people.
I'm hoping to hear a lot of feedback on people doing this and never having a problem :goodvibes

I've had to ship packages to hotels before. I used UPS once. I paid for 2nd day air and scheduled the package to arrive the same day I did. The hotel had it waiting for me when I arrived. I think it's less likely to get lost if you have the package arrive the day after you arrive. That way the hotel knows what room you are in and have it delivered right there. You can pay to have the contents insured in the unlikely event that the package is lost.

Use a shipping method with a scheduled delivery date and a tracking system - UPS, FedEx, DHL...
See the sticky thread at the top of this board for directions on shipping to your resort, how to address the package(s), the resorts' shipping addresses...
Consider taking only half your summer wardrobe, and doing laundry partway through the trip. I trust UPS and FedEx, but stuff happens.

I shipped all our clothes, toiletries and all baby supplies to Kidani last spring for my son's first trip. When we arrived and checked in to the resort, they told me the boxes were there (as well as our Garden Grocer order), and bell services brought them to the room.

I shipped them via UPS and followed the instructions in the shipping sticky above.

We shipped 2 boxes with the liquids and heavy Items (due to bag fees) UPS a week and a half before we left. UPS gave us tracking infor and said it would arrive in 4 days. I checked on line with tracking number the day it arrived I called the hotel the next day and the CM at front desk confirmed that we had 2 packages awaiting our arrival. I did write on the boxes our check in date and res#so they would not need to look us up by name. They were delivered with the rest of our luggage after check in. :cool1:

This sounds like a great idea but how do you ship the box back home? Take it to the front desk or gift shop?

Thanks!
Carla

Bell services picked up the boxes and took them to the front desk at Kidani. They weighed and packed them up there, and I paid them for the shipping fees.

From what have read on other threads you go ahead and get a return shipping label when you ship it but that would mean you wouldn't add anything to it. I'm glad to see the other person that replied to you said they can weigh it at the resort. This would mean I can add to my return shipment.

This is great news. We were just going to bring a return shipping label with us.
