Shipping bottled water to resort. Shipping charges :-(

If you are going to get charge the fee it may be better to use a local service. Garden grocer or the like

What is this handling fee?? We are staying at the Contemporary. So if I ship a box of snacks there, they'll charge me for that?? WHY???

When we stayed at BLT last year my husband had to have a debit card sent Fed Ex and the fee was about $3.50 to pick it up.

Also ordered mine from Walmart online last Oct. for about $4 and 97 cent shipping. took about 3-4 days to arrive at OKW where I picked it up myself when checking in, and took to my room myself.

Couldn't you just pack refillable water bottles? They even make collapsible ones now. Much less hassle and better for the environment by a long-shot!

The taste of Disney water is...uh...distinctive. I don't *think* they pump it straight from Small World to the water fountains, but tasting evidence suggests otherwise.

(At home I am all about the refillable, but in the World I just can't do it, even with a filter bottle.)

what about the brita water bottles with the filter built in? You could just bring those from home, and fill them up at water fountains (where the water is pretty cold), and save all the hassle of shipping.

I'm not sure how helpful this is to the OP, but wanted to mention that when we rented our stroller from Kingdom Strollers, there was an option to add a case of water to be delivered for an additional $9 (24 bottles). This worked out perfect for us, the water was right there at bell services with the stroller. Not sure if other rental agencies have this option, but thought this might help someone!

I want to order a case of bottled water and have it shipped to our hotel. I can find great prices for the water itself (~$6 on Amazon for a 24 pack) but then the shipping charges are $13+!! This sort of defeats the purpose.

Is there a better way to do this?

We take a limo from the airport and the driver stops at a supermarket for us to shop. We stay at BCV and fill the refrigerator with everything we need for five of us. If you are driving from the airport I suggest that you find a supermarket and buy what you need rather than ship things.

Take the resort bus to Downtown Disney. Go to the bus stop near Planet Hollywood. Walk across the street to the Hess station where they sell cases of water for $6.00. Did this in April, brought 2 reusable grocery bags with us. Put 12 bottles of water in each bag. Carried them back to the bus to the resort.

This would work however I have found that the Downtown Disney buses are horrible. I would budget a couple of hours for this. For Downtown Disney being a shopping center you would think that the transportation there would be better. It always seems that the wait for a bus is at least twice that for a park.

Since they won't ship water anymore, will they still ship food items to the resorts?

I know we all want to save money but take advantage of possible free shipping on bottled water? You are really OK that some store has to deliver this 30 pound package for free while making $1 from your purchase?

I'll look out for them when they start looking out for me ;).

how far out do you need to order for Walmart to have it shipped and be there when you arrive at the resort?

Will Walmart ship water if you buy other things?

No, sorry!

I ordered about 6 days prior to arrival. The items shipped from different locations and all but one box arrived within two days of ordering. The last box arrived on the day after we checked in (checked in on Sunday and it arrived on Monday). The resort was great about holding them for us.
