Good news is it does not look like a stress fracture. I had an x-ray, and it came back negative. Now he did warn that to be sure, I would have to have an MRI, but because nothing showed up on the x-ray, he did not think I needed to have it done. His suggestion was to go ahead a run, and then ice, ice, ice and motrin a few hours after the race. Then ice some more, and I will probably have to take extended time off after the race. I asked about tape, and he said it is possible, but is concerned that it could be too restrictive?? I have a nice pair of $60 compression type knee high socks that make me look I stepped out of a 1970's high school basketball team photo, but hey, with the cold weather, my legs will probably be covered anyway!
Thanks for all the advice and good vibes. Really, this race would not be nearly as exciting if I did not have my Diser's to guide me! Thank goodness for e-ticket so I can keep up at work too!
