Thanks for the well wishes - I am the world's worst patient. Since I'm in medicine, I think I know everything. It's hard for us to separate ourselves and become the patient. I will try, but I understand the value and importance of PT. My boys would like me to be able to play sports with them again.

Who ever said the ER was a safe place? :worship::worship::worship:

So what part of medicine do you play?

& you've gotta stop wearing those roller skates to work:rotfl:

So, surgery went well. Still uncomfortable, but glad it's over.

As, I sat down to write this part - I was wishing I was recovering on a beautiful sea day, with nothing to do. Alas, that will have to wait.

Thursday was our second Sea Day. I do enjoy them. More so when we travel without the kids. I know it's mean to say that but without any distractions it is better. For those who have never done it, leave the kids home once and see what I mean.

I woke up early again this morning, remembering what happened on the first day at sea with all of the unattended lounger saving that was going on. I knew it would happen again. I promise no tantrum this morning. As I arrived on Deck 9 to find a pair of chairs, I was not surprised to see all the personal belongings laying around. I was able to find 2 chair together and sat my happy self on one waiting for my DW to rise and join me. We weren't going to be there for an extended period of time because we had a reservation for Brunch at Palo. My Dw joined me with some morning Joe and fresh fruit. Always a treat by the pool. We enjoyed another beautiful morning by the pool and as we began gathering our things to head back to our room to get ready for brunch, our Italian table mates were looking for a pair of chairs. We happily gave them ours so that they could enjoy the rest of the sunny morning by the pool.

We got ready for Brunch and headed upstairs to Palo. I was really surprised again as the restaurant wasn't all that full. Happily we were seated at the same table that we had dinner at. Our server was once again Andrea and we were thrilled. I don't think I need to go into all the details of the copious amounts of food and drink available at Brunch. It was excellent, although I don't know if I would do it on every cruise that it was available. If I was going to make a choice between brunch and dinner at Palo, I'd choose dinner 9 out of 10 times. But, that's just my opinion. I think if you have the opportunity to have brunch, try it at least once. It's worth the nominal charge.

After brunch we headed back to change and go back to the pool for a little while. Needless to say, it was PACKED!!!! We originally found 2 chairs up on deck 10 and began to settle in. I walked down to take a quick dip in the pool, God it was HOT! I saw our friends who were getting ready to leave and asked if we wanted our seats back. :worship::worship::worship: Poolside it is. I went and got my DW and relocated back to the pool - It's nice to have friends that share. We enjoyed the remainder of the day at the pool and headed back to our stateroom to get ready for the show and dinner. Tonight was Dreams (one of my absolute favorites) and The Captain's Gala aka Semi-Formal Night.

Hope your recovery continues to go well.

Thanks for the update....sounds like a restful day. :)

Glad to see you're a bit better... rest in between giving us reports and you'll be fine!!! :rotfl:

& you should someday go on one of the longer 2 week cruises... Palo... brunch and dinner more than once... it's heaven!!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Joel....

I knew that YOU would appreciate this... The Fantasy when it came into NYC this morning... and the horn... they played New York New York!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Like I was saying, our Sea Day with Palo brunch was very nice and very relaxing...The weather had been perfect, with the exception of some wind during the day. But hot, sunny and calm seas have made for a wonderful voyage.

Our scheduled Thursday Night entertainment was the Captain's Gala Dinner which would include - LOBSTER!!!! and of course Disney Dreams. But also, that ever elusive CHOCOLATE BUFFET we have heard stories about....

As we headed back to our stateroom to prepare for dinner Captain John came over the PA system and gave us a weather update for tonight and our day tomorrow in Paradise - Castaway Cay! He mentioned that we would have another exceptional sunset - and he wasn't kidding. A real highlight of our trip have been all of the spectacular sunsets. The Key West sunset was, jaw dropping. And tonight was no exception.

And it was gone...

We headed down to the Walt Disney Theater for the show. One of my all time favorites, it continues to impress on every voyage. Unfortunately, we didn't see all of it. We promised the kids we would call them tonight. We made it back to our stateroom and turned on the cell phone.:eek: Don't sweat it, the 2 calls we made while on board from our cell phone were not nearly as expensive as it would have been to call from the stateroom phone. The clarity of the call was great, not an ounce of static and never dropped the call. Of course we were trying to explain to them that we were about 100 miles from Cuba, but they didn't make the geographical connection. We told them to look at a map.

I have to say that my DW and I really enjoyed having the ability to "dress up" while we were away. We took advantage of the "suggested attire" and really had fun. For all that are interested, yes we saw a wide variety of clothing options during our cruise. And no, it didn't bother us that some choose to opt out of the "attire suggestions."

Dinner, was awesome. The lobster was tender and delicious. Now, I am a bit of a seafood snob being from New England - the lobster served was not from the northeast, but the Caribbean. It was great though. Now, even though it wasn't on the menu, I made my own "Surf n Turf" yes I ordered beef too. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it to all with a healthy appetite.

Dinner was also an opportunity to take some photos of our serving team and our table mates...

Toto and Adrian were awesome!!!! Hands down the best team we have ever had. Sadly, Toto has been transferred to the Fantasy. He shipped out a week after our voyage. I'm sure he is enjoying that big beautiful ship, but that team will be hard to replace.

After dinner we headed to Rockin' Bar D for some entertainment with Andrea and Valeria. We enjoyed their company and have remained in touch even after the cruise...

Now, if you'll forgive me, I'm climbing back onto my soapbox...:confused3

I have seen some people complain that the "chocolate buffet" is not well advertised and that their servers didn't inform them that it was happening. I say, oh well, too bad, so sad. It actually is listed in the Navigator, on that same last page where you also failed to read that you shouldn't be saving loungers on deck 9. It is called "Lumiere's Gala Buffet" from 11:15-11:45. But you really have to look for it to find it. We all were still stuffed from our Captain's Gala dinner and had no intention of "eating" again. Valeria said we were just going to look...:rotfl2::rotfl2: Wanna bet? I lasted about 15 seconds and had a plate in my hands drooling over all of the deserts. Don't be fooled, the other 3 were right behind me with their plates too...

Rows and rows of chocolate everything and the chocolate fountain. We took our plates and headed for a quiet table in the Promenade Lounge where we ate, talked and laughed until late into the evening. We bid farewell to our friends and headed back to our stateroom to rest up for our day in Paradise tomorrow.

Found you late, but I'm really really enjoying your trip report! I read the whole thing so far in one sitting, and am looking forward to the next installment. :cool1:

I know, I haven't been here in quite a long time...My recovery took a turn and lasted longer than expected...I am now almost fully recovered and headed back to work.

I promise I will finish this saga before long (hopefully next week).

I'll keep you all posted.
