Shhh! Super Secret Winter Warm Up Girls Only February Get Away (from the snow)

Just got back from a walk at the park with my doggy. It's about 65 and sunny...in JANUARY  here....but at least I got to remember what sun and warmth actually feels like!

Organized all my trip information and my planning folder last night. Got all my budget sorted out for the trip. :thumbsup2 AND...had some money left over from what I had saved! :cool1: I see some Disney shopping in my future!!! :goodvibes DD and I LOVE to shop at DTD and Epcot in WS.

Also got some packing done this morning and finished all the dirty laundry. What is that empty laundry basket??? I had forgotten what that could be! :rolleyes1

Now I think I'm going to make some CCC (that's my new acronym for "chocolate chip cookies") for the kids. :wizard:

Only 6 more sleeps....or 5 more sleeps and 1 more "I'm too excited to sleep" til DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT! I think that calls for a dancing banana! or even 2 :banana:

I think it's sad when even the kids understand the acronyms and use them as well.

And yay! Now 5 more sleeps!!! :cool1:

Random thoughts for today:;)

3 more sleeps and 1 more "I'm too excited to sleep." :thumbsup2

DD packed her things yesterday. We have matchy outfits for our first day. We are wearing our Mickey shirts that I made, denim jackets and black pants. Aren't we gonna be cuuuuute??? :cloud9:

I ordered my own guacamole so that I can double dip all I want to. (I told you it was random thoughts, right?)

Saw my accountant this morning and she got me all ready for submitting my very first business taxes. I love her! She is awesome. And I'm not doing too badly for my first 5 months of being a business owner! :wizard:

And, might I just say, I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE MY JOB!!!

I'm at the office right now...saw my accountant this morning, got done early, went to target, picked up a couple of little surprises for DS and a few misc items for the trip, got lunch at Chipotle (a kids meal is totally enough food!) and am waiting for my client. Then it's home to do a few chores, get the kids off the bus, take DS to the farm to milk the cows with hubby, spend some time with DD (she asked me to do her nails because she was totally jealous that I got a pedicure the other day), come back to the office and see another client (thank goodness I live 5 minutes away!), pick up DS from the farm and take him to a youth outing--they are having a scavenger hunt at the mall tonight--then home again. Tomorrow DD has a b-day party in the afternoon and then a daddy-daughter date so I think I will take DS to the movies. And Sunday DS has tickets to a Rise Against concert....so I guess DH and I are taking him down there--DH doesn't want to drive, so I'm driving and dropping them off at the concert, going to a movie and picking them up when it's over. (I'd do ANYTHING not to have to actually GO to the concert!) DD is staying with her cousin at the house so she can get to bed early. Monday DD has a big presentation in her social studies class-an immigration project. She is also being honored for Character Counts at lunch that day so DH and I will go to lunch with her at school for the ceremony. Then I need to take her to the chiropractor one more time (she twisted her neck and hasn't been able to move for 2 or 3 days--it's a little better now). And then she has gymnastics...and THEN it's our "I'm too excited to sleep" night! :cool1:

Can you say, "BUSY WEEKEND?" :scared1:

My former boss (and my pastor) offered to drive us to the airport so we will stop by his house and pick him up on our way to BWI and then he will take our car to his house until we get back. :goodvibes

Can you deal with warm temps and clouds?

Are you stalking the weather too? It changes every time I check it! I'm not going to worry just yet....I just need some sun.

I'm feeling more optimistic about the weather!

2 more sleeps and 1 more I'm too excited to sleep....until DISNEY! Or maybe they are all going to be "I'm too excited to sleep" nights.....:surfweb:

Tonight I think my sleeplessness is more related to the caffeine I had at the movies with DS than anything else. and that fact that the cat is driving me nuts scratching her ear! Can't she do that in another room?!?!?

The weather will be just fine for you when you go. Hey Disney is better than home right? :thumbsup2

My Aunt & Uncle are there now and it is gorgeous. They were kind enough to post pictures from the pool at BLT. jerks...

I'm surprised you are still even talking to them....

Loving your PTR, Katie. I'm headed over there now to post a comment! I read Glen's installment last night while I was waiting for Richard and Lucas to get out of their Rise Against concert at the Patriot Center in DC. But I was on my phone and it's too hard to post from my phone....I know...laziness, pure laziness! (And teeny tiny keyboard)

Tomorrow...tomorrow....I love ya, tomorrow...Disney's only a day away!"

WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm nearly packed, finished almost all my stuff I have to get done around the house in order to leave and I'm done with work until my return....and the weather's looking pretty good! :thumbsup2

BFF skater (and her DH) is already on her way there this morning....she'll prep the way for us. :goodvibes

I'm hanging on the computer right now waiting to check in for my flight at the stroke of 9:25am. Gotta get in the "A" group for boarding!

My little countdown on my phone says "0 days" today. I can't believe it's finally here!

I'll try and post some updates when we get back at night (if you're not too upset with me to even read them). ;)

OH NO! "B" boarding group! I seriously logged in at 9:24 to check in for my 9:25 flight and still got in B group! There must have been a lot of people who paid for the early bird boarding pass. Arrgh!

I hope we can still get seats together.

I bought the EB boarding for our return flight since we'll be busy at the parks when it's check in time.

wow. Most of the people must've done the the early bird. I think I would if I ever flew SW too.

We are HERE! In WDW! :thumbsup2:cool1::banana::woohoo::dance3:

Our day has been pretty great!
Everything went perfectly this morning. We even left our house less than 2 minutes past my goal time! (A-mazing!) There was a long slow spot arriving at Pastor Paul's house (traffic--argh!) But we made it to the airport on time, checked our bags with Southwest and headed to the gate.

DD wanted a croissant so we grabbed one of those and Mommy wanted a Starbucks (which happens to be at the B gates...ah well....I'm going to be walking all week anyway...might as well start now). Got my SB, and went to our gate to wait. There was our beautiful plane, just waiting for us to board!

Boarded without any issues and sat next to a very nice lady on the plane. Apparently, according to DD's journal entry tonight, "Mom talked for 2 hours straight." (She was really nice!)

DD finished ALL her homework on the plane (whoo hoo!) :woohoo: and before we knew it we were landing at MCO. A little bummer because it was cloudy. :sad1: We are just happy to be here though.

Walked right to the ME check in, and up to the front of the line. Barely had time to take a photo before we were boarding our bus. And then we were off! It wasn't 5 minutes before we left! (I'm LOVING Port Orleans FQ so far!) And then our bus stop was the first one....and there was no one else in the check in line! :wizard: I'm sensing a little pixie dust so far!

Our room wasn't ready yet but we were given all our requests, so we decided to wait for it and went to the food court. We shared a chicken quesadilla (really quite good!) and then changed into our swim suits. All DD had been dreaming of all day was swimming.... so we went to the pool. I found it quite amusing to see one of the lifeguards walking around wearing a rain coat. I asked him if he was planning to leave it on if he had to dive in to save someone. He laughed and said, "Probably!"

We swam for a while and watched some other kids play some of the games they had going on and then headed over to the hot tub. Ahhh...VERY nice!

We decided to see if our room was ready and good news! It was! So we went to the room to get ready for MK. DD had a slight fashion crisis when she realized that her shoes did not really go with her outfit that she was wearing and our luggage had not yet arrived (she had packed special clothes to wear to Tony's for dinner--"Italian clothes." We managed to get past that and finally made it to the bus stop....just as the MK bus was pulling away.

For a few minutes we were the only ones waiting and then a group of seriously obnoxious teenagers using seriously foul language decided to join us. Good times. Fortunately they sat in the back of the bus and we couldn't hear them any more after that. Even DD was offended by them. I felt sorry for the sweet little girl and her family who also rode with us.

First up at MK: PIRATES! 10 minute wait! The park was practically deserted! When we came out of Pirates, people were in a panic....seems it was raining. Seriously? It was barely drizzling! DD had never been to the Tiki room, so I coerced her into going. Her favorite part? The clouds in the little scenes at the back of the room where the rain storm is!

She's apparently becoming as obsessed with taking photos as me because we spent a lot of time waiting for her to get the perfect shot!

After Tiki room it was nearly time for our ADR at Tony's Town Square. This was a new spot for us but having recently seen Lady the the Tramp for the first time, I was really looking forward to it. We walked in and were seated almost immediately outside on the patio! It smelled so good walking throught there! I had never seen the Flag Retreat at MK before and we were able to watch that and the Move It Shake It Dance Party while we ate our dinner.

I tried the asparagus soup--delicious! Anna had the garlic cheese bread and loved it. My chicken parmigiana was just ok. But dessert--pistachio creme brulee...AMAZING! And Anna loved her ice cream--she said it tasted like homemade.

But I think our favorite thing today was Haunted Mansion! We LOVED the new entrance through the graveyard! SO fun! We went back twice and just played with the stuff in the entrance! If you touch the instruments on the huge stone grave, they play! It's cool.

The best part was feeling that Disney still has the ability to surprise and delight me. It was just so much fun. And then we absolutely LOVED the Magic, the Memories and You show. Loved it! So many neat effects. Again I just felt delighted by it.

Anna even wanted to watch the show at the castle before the fireworks. So we enjoyed our evening.

We decided that our theme for our trip is "Random Laughter." (long story...) We had a very fun and entertaining bus driver on the way back from MK to POFQ tonight. Got back to our room, unpacked and got ready for bed. DD decided to study her Bible quizzing (to make Daddy happy). You can see how that turned out!

So, tomorrow is MK again....I LOVE opening ceremony so I can't wait for that. And Crystal Palace for dinner. Looking forward to more sunshine! (hoping!)

Sounds like you had great timing for nearly everything! Glad you got your room requests!

That's great that dd was able to get her homework done on the plane and enjoy all the fun at WDW!

How was the temp of the pool water? When we stayed at POFQ in Dec we found it freezing!! Ended up at the theme pool at POR which was much warmer, we were very thankful for a sister resort!!

Too bad about DD's shoes. I'm sure she looked great in her "Italian" clothes despite the wrong shoes.

We had alot of teens at POP too. But they didn't seem to speak English, so if they used bad language it went right over our head. That is a shame that their words were foul.

Sounds like you had great seating at Tony's to see the flag retreat and Move it Shake it!! I didn't realize Tony's has asparagus soup. That sounds great! Your dessert looks wonderful!

Disney sure did a great job with the HM queue! It is alot of fun!

"Random Laughter" sounds like you both had a wonderful trip. Look forward to reading more!
