Shhh! Super Secret Winter Warm Up Girls Only February Get Away (from the snow)

Hey... I saw a zebra cake on that dessert plate from Boma. Those things are fabulous!

I'm glad ti hear you guys enjoyed the La Nouba. I have thought about getting tickets for it, but I'm not sure if the boys would like it.

I'm actually getting sad now since your trip is almost over. :sad1: I have been enjoying the nightly updates. Maybe we can steal your idea for our trip. :rolleyes1

Wonderful updates! Your food looks great! I love your DD's DIS green sneakers.

Still catching up, but where did you get DD's purse. It's the second time I have seen that purse in a photo in the last 2 days. So I assume it's fairly new and out on the market now.....I WANT it!!!!

I can't believe you are doing a live TR so jealous

Really Mike???? Go bug Tracy ;)

I feel much better because I thought he was talking about me. :thumbsup2

what a great relaxing day. I think I will have to make plans to see La Nouba. I have heard mixed reviews but I always like to judge for myself

It was so much fun! And yes, you should judge for yourself. :goodvibes

Katie, I would LOVE that if you did nightly updates. Then I can live vicariously through you!

Yes there was a Zebra dome on that plate....I like them but the bread pudding is truly my favorite!

And I think Glenn & Ethan would really like LaNouba--there's a lot of athleticism involved--bmx bikes, and other stunts that are really cool and manly! /SIZE]

Those sneakers are Ed Hardy and I got them from zappos.com. I love them....they only had size 5 and 6 so I couldn't get any for me. DD is so picky about her clothes that finally finding some she liked was miraculous!

Wow....DoP really inspires a lot of paranoia....sheesh! :rolleyes1

That purse is the nerds purse. It's in all the parks and resorts. We got hers last year but they still have them. Do you need it badly enough that I need to buy you one and send it to you?

Hmmmm...thats a thought. How much are they?

Jen, I think they are about $20.

I can live with that price. If you get a chance, pick up one for me and I'll sned you a check for it all plus shipping, or pay via paypal too. Which ever works best.

Okey dokey!

Lights, Camera, Action! A Day at the Studios...Day 6.

Today was cccccoooolllllllddddd! :cold: What is it with me and Disney trips? Every single time I've come there has been at least one day with record cold temperatures. And today was that day! You guys might not want to plan a visit when I'm going to be here....just sayin!

Freezing on the bus.....

And please don't hang with us if you are planning on taking the bus to your park....4 (count them FOUR) MK buses....3 (THREE) Epcot buses..... 3 (THREE) DTD buses... 4 (YES FOUR) Animal Kingdom buses before finally our DHS bus arrived this morning. As Monk says, it's a gift....and a curse. I apologize to all the folks who were also planning on going to DHS today...it's our fault. Whatever park we choose will inevitably have the worst bus service of the day. :rolleyes1

The advantage however, of cold weather, is low park attendance (or at least it started out that way until the cheerleaders got out of bed and flooded the park).

We rushed to Toy Story Midway mania...I think there were only about 100 people there before us, got our fast passes and headed over to Star Tours. Anna couldn't remember it and wasn't sure if she had ridden it before. For the longest time I really thought we were the only ones on the ride!

dsc01169.jpg

Then it was time to fill up and warm up at Writers Stop where they have "real" coffee and these yummy pastries: Anna was too hungry to wait for me to take a photo of her cheese danish. I had this GINORMOUS chocolate danish (and was GOOD) and a latte. A real latte. Real coffee. *sigh* :cloud9:

dsc01172-1.jpg

They had a really neat book there called Disney in the Details. I think I might have to buy that one.

We headed over to Rock-N-Roller Coaster, but it was closed (technical difficulties) but we were able to get fast passes for later.

Next was the Great Movie Ride. We walked right onto the ride with no wait at all. I was able to get some fun photos with my new camera.

dsc01184-1.jpg

Then we decided to use our fast passes for Toy Story Midway Mania. Anna was sad because I beat her score. I thought she did great. Someone this month had over 560,000!!!! Yeah. Not me!

dsc01204.jpg

Since we were nearby, we went to Animation Academy and the class voted to draw Eeyore. (That was what Anna and I had been hoping for! :cloud9:) I love that class and could have stayed longer to draw another character, but Anna was ready to move on.

dsc01210.jpg

I convinced her to try Rock-N-Roller coaster and even though she was really scared, she agreed (and was actually sort of excited). Our fast passes got us in really quickly and we were watching the band. (I got in trouble by the CM for taking a photo--whoops! I didn't know!) I love the license plates on the limos--"buhbye" "2fast4u". I tried to keep Anna occupied while we were in line, but the people screaming were making it difficult!

dsc01211.jpg

Long story short: SHE LOVED IT! She immediately texted DS to tell him that she loved it.

For a total change of scenery....next was Muppet Vision 3D. My favorite part is actually the pre-show on the video screens in the queue. But that was fun. And when we were done, it was time for lunch at Mama Melrose.

I have to say that I liked MM better the last time I was there. It was ok but not great. Maybe it was just what I ordered??? I had the Chicken Campanelle and Anna had noodles with butter. We both like the bread and dipping oil. We decided to have Mickey bar later rather than get dessert.

dsc01224.jpg

After lunch we shopped for just a bit. I like the couture store that's on the same street with ToT. So we shopped a while there (to let lunch settle down before ToT). Then it was off to use our fast passes for Tower of
Terror. This is Anna's favorite ride. She had a lovely time trying to scare me while we were in line....saying how worn out the ride looked and she sure hoped it would not break while we were on it....and don't worry about the huge random drops. Oh she's a peach, my dear daughter. :rolleyes1 I survived. That's all I have to say.

dsc01235.jpg

Oh except my advice to the cheerleaders would be NOT to wear your matchy matchy outfits to the parks because when people see giant groups of teen-agers randomly yelling to other groups of teen-agers, they tend to be annoyed by this. So just keep it under wraps. Travel in SMALL groups, don't acknowledge each other and never, ever shout out cheers to another group while waiting in an enclosed space such as the queue in Tower of Terror.....:headache:

Since neither Anna nor I had been on the Backlot Tour, we decided to give it a try. We waited about 10 minutes for that ride. I really sort of enjoyed it. Anna liked the part where everything blew up. I would have liked seeing more of the costume production--I thought that was really cool.

dsc01246.jpg

Finally got these pictures! :goodvibes

dsc01259.jpg

And then it was time for Beauty and the Beast. We grabbed a box of popcorn popcorn:: and found a seat (close to the front). Anna agreed to this for me since I didn't get to see FOLK at AK the other day. Belle is my favorite princess and I love the story. At the end a CM brought one little girl up to the edge of the stage and Belle and the prince handed her a rose. I hadn't seen that before. It was really sweet. That little girl was GLOWING afterwards.

dsc01272.jpg

We both agreed we were tired and wanted to go back to the resort and take it easy the rest of the day. We had dinner at the food court. I have to say I'm not that impressed with POFQ's food court. Limited choices....and not that great of quality. I finally tried the beignets and have to say they were just big pillows of hollow dough with powdered sugar...not too impressive.

dsc01286.jpg

I forgot to mention our little pixie dust last night....we have had the BEST mousekeeper all week. She is just so sweet and happy and has taken such good care of us. She LOVED our mousekeeping tip envelopes. Anna and I stopped by the concierge desk last night to ask for a comment card so that we could tell her how great of a job she has done. We started explaining to the CM and she told us that mousekeeping is not a "tipable" position so she thanked us for making the envelopes and leaving tips. Then she asked us to wait there for a moment. When she came back she gave us a small stuffed Mickey Mouse (for Anna) and a package of chocolates (for me) and told us that since we had gone to so much trouble to make magic for one of the CM's that she wanted to make magic for us. I'm telling you, Anna was so thrilled with that Mickey....and so excited that they gave us something. She went on and on about it when she called her dad. pixiedust:

Big day tomorrow...LONG day tomorrow....starting with breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and ending with (hopefully) Fantasmic! at DHS.

:goodvibes

Busses stacked on top of each other for every other park but the one you were going too sounds alot like our trip last year. :lmao:

Very cool for that girl at Beauty and the Beast, when we were down in 2007 the CM picked the girl who was first in line, stunk for us since we were 2nd.

Very nice of the CM to give you some free stuff too.

I am so glad we are not down there with you. That December trip was enough of a cold Disney trip for me. so glad to hear about the spreading pixie dust. :goodvibes

Well I have started watching the weather for my trip and looks like it will be warming up just in time for me to get there!!! :cheer2:

It must take a few days after you leave for the cold to follow you home :rotfl:

We're home. Pretty non-eventful trip home....oh,except for the fact that we went to the wrong side of the airport (our bus driver let us off at the wrong terminal) and we went to the wrong side...and the security guy let us through! :scared1: We didn't realize it until we couldn't find our gate number! So then we had to go through security AGAIN on the other side (although they did send us through the employee entrance so there wasn't a big line) and then because I was so discombobulated from the whole "wrong side of the terminal" incident, that I forgot to take my laptop out and then they had to open my bag, do a "test" on my laptop and run both through the scanner again. Apparently I should not travel early in the morning. :rolleyes1

I'll try and post my last TR later today.

Oh, and Pastor Paul picked us up and gave me whole Africa update....we will be going through Ethiopia and Zambia instead of South Africa on our way to Mozambique and then visiting an animal park in Zambia on our way home. It's real! We have tickets!

wow holy drama in the airport :scared1:

Glad you are home, now you can hear me talk about my trip for the next 2 weeks!!!

Glad you had a safe trip home Lenora even if there was some drama involved. :goodvibes
