Shhh! Let's sneak off to Disney - Nov 2012 PTR Updated 11/19/12

Latest scuttle-but about Test Track is November 27 ish (my oldest son's birthday and he is crazy about it!) Although I have seen reports of as early as November 19... same as Fantasy Land.

Nini

Excellent, maybe we will get a chance to see it! I hoping we will get to see the new TT, the new Pirates thing at DHS and the New Fantasyland. All three will be in "previews" while we are there! But if we don't there's always next trip.

MMMM~ you are eating at my two favorite Epcot restaurants!!!! :thumbsup2 Be sure to take food porn pictures for us all to drool over when you get back! I miss Disney food!!!

I definitely plan on taking lots of pictures. Food porn, that makes me giggle!

I LOVE Sunshine Seasons breakfast, it's the only breakfast I always eat at WDW, usually I just eat a granola bar before I leave my room.

Definitely explore WS, the details and shops are all so amazing :goodvibes

I usually eat pretty bland in the morning due to the pesky stomach issues I have. Greasy food tends to bother me in the morning (I can eat greasy stuff fine for lunch or dinner :confused3) so I usually just have a plain bagel or some bland cereal. I wish I could eat breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, it looks wonderful! The one breakfast at the Wave is going to be all the big breakfast I will be able to handle!

I can't wait to spend lots of time in WS!

This day is totally up in the air right now except for our dinner reservation. I always like to have a free day to go back and do stuff we missed the first time. We will probably decide the night before. I do have some ideas on stuff we might do.

I’m guessing we might want to go back to Magic Kingdom for at least a few hours. Unfortunately Christmas parade taping is Friday and Saturday so if we do go I want to get in and out early.

I would like to visit the Grand Floridian to see the gingerbread house.

I am trying to find someplace unique for lunch this day. I’m looking at Wolfgang Puck Express if we end up back at Downtown Disney. Maybe we’ll do some resort hopping as I am also intrigued by the menu at Riverside Mill (POR) and Landscape of Flavors (AOA). Going back to Animal Kingdom is also an option so maybe Flame Tree or Pizzafari there. Anyone have some other suggestions for good/unusual counter service places?

Afternoon will be one of the following options: Back to the resort to rest (highly unlikely), Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios to catch a few things we missed or Downtown Disney for shopping.

Dinner that night is at 7 pm at Cape May Café.

Mom wanted seafood one night and this is what we ended up picking. We’ve eaten at Coral Reef and Cap’n Jacks and most of the other seafood restaurants are 2 credits. She is a little leery of eating here because she does not care for buffets. I’m actually really excited about the meal because every review I’ve read has been excellent. She’s tried to talk me into changing it a few times but I’ve held fast! I’m most looking forward to the Oreo Bon Bons but have heard a rumor recently that they are gone. I will be disappointed if that is true but still think it will be an awesome meal.

After dinner we want to explore the Boardwalk for a bit. We stopped here during the day in 2010 but not much was going on then. We want to see it at night when things are more active.

Our last stop for the night if we are not too tired will be Epcot for Extra Magic Hours.

Then back to CBR for one last Disney sleep.

Next up: The Dreaded Departure Day

I say do WPE for lunch, it is excellent! And it's nice to get the feel of a casual TS, for a CS price! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, we were NOT happy with our meal at Cape May two months ago. Service was outstanding, but the food was mediocre at best. And, yes, I am afraid the Oreo Bon Bon's are gone (the dessert selection was very limited).

Love Flame Tree for counter service at the AK; Wolfgang Express was very good when I went in January and we love Earl of Sandwich as well.

We've never eaten at Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary but I've read very good things about it recently.

I think we will definitely hit up WPE if we go to DTD that day. I think it's really going to depend on where we end up.

:scared: I'm just going to hope you were there on an off night. If not, I'm sure I will hear a few "told you so's". :lmao:

We love Flame Tree and Earl of Sandwich. I'll have to take a look at the menu for Contempo Cafe. If we are on the Monorail line visiting the GF it would be easy to hop over there. I thought about the CS at GF (can't think of the name right now) but it's supposed to be closed for renovation while we are there.

Another "Meh" vote for Cape May... We were there in March - and our favorite part of the whole meal was the Clam Chowder... We would have loved the Crab, but being from MN - we are far from expert at Crab cracking - so it was more of an experience for the people next to us (I suspect) - since we resulted in being some great entertainment.

However, if you LOVe sea food, and you can crack crab with the best of them - I do recommend going here at least once. :)

Personnally, I'm not the biggest seafood fan but Mom really is and can crack crab just fine. I'll eat some of the "plainer" fish like Tilapia or Flounder but really don't care for any of the shellfish varieties. There seems to be plenty on the buffet that isn't fish so I should be fine. Hopefully Mom will enjoy it but if not, we just won't go back again!

This will be our last day in Disney. Luckily our flights are not till 6 pm so we have a few hours to enjoy. We will pack up in the morning and take our bags over to the Custom House to check or leave with Bell Services.

Once again I have no concrete plans for this day other than avoiding the MK area due to the parade taping. I’m guessing we will have to catch the DME around 3 pm so we need to be headed back to the resort by 1:30 – 2:00 to be on the safe side.

If we get up and moving early enough, maybe we will end up back at HS for one more spin on TSM. There are EMH hours that morning so we would have to get there by 8 am.

Maybe we will do some more resort hopping. I would love to see AKL, POFQ and POR. I’m trying to decide between POFQ and POR for my 2013 trip with DH and would like to visit both.

DTD is also an option as there is never enough time for shopping!

I’m thinking we might have a CS meal credit left so we will grab lunch somewhere and then head back to CBR to pick up our carry-ons and head to the airport.

So we are at nearing the end of this PTR. Less than 6 days from now, I will be at Disney!

I’ll going to do one more post, probably on Wednesday, to list out the souvenirs I plan to purchase but then that will be the end.

Well Cape May is on our "possibilities" list for next time. :scratchin We love seafood, and all five of us are expert crab crackers, too. :thumbsup2 I guess I will have to see what Ariana and her mom think of it. If it ends up with three thumbs down reviews, it will be removed from the list! I will be the ADR Nazi... "No ADR for YOU!" :smokin:

Ahhh~ it makes me sad to see reports come to an end. :sad1: But I am so happy you will be back to give a full TR with lots of fun pictures!!! :dance3:

Bummer that your PTR is almost over... Can't wait for the TR though. ;)

I'll definitely let you know my Mom thinks. As for me, I'm not sure how much my opinion will mean as i really do have the palate of a five year old. :rotfl:

Yep going to do a TR for sure!

I can't believe I'm almost finished with the PTR, it feels like I just started it! But I really need to be with Thanksgiving coming up plus I only have 5 days to go! :dance3:

First of all, I don't think I will be on the DIS tomorrow so to everyone reading

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day with your families.

Now on to the Souvenirs I wish to buy. Shopping at Disney is one of my favorite things to do so I've been working on my list for a while.

Mom would like to find some Disney night shirts and a nice pair of Mickey earrings. She also has a list from my Cousin with things to buy for her three kids.

I on the other hand have a much longer and expensive list. Luckily I have a lot of points saved on my Disney Visa. Also, DH gets his bonuses paid out in various gift cards and he gets me a Disney one once in a while. I have quite a few of those saved for this trip too! I believe I have enough saved to get everything on my list although I will definitely have to pick only one Dooney & Bourke purse.

1. Pluto Pillow Pal

2. Nice Gold Mickey watch for work

3. A Disney Charm for my Pandora bracelet

4. Car window decal that reads “my other car is a Monorail” (saw this on DMGeurts TR and knew immediately I needed one for my car).

5. Limited Edition Pluto figurine by Arribas Brothers

6. Disney Charms Letter Carrier Bag by Dooney & Bourke (but only if I can find one with Pluto on the front).

7. If I can’t find the Dooney & Bourke above with Pluto, I might get the Sketch Leather Cross-body bag because I think it is gorgeous.

8. Pick a Pearl in Japan. I’ve walked past this so many times and always keep going. This time I’m doing it! I’m thinking either a ring or the Cinderella’s Carriage necklace.

9. “Subtle” Disney shirts that I can wear on casual Fridays at work. Last time I got a cute blue, short sleeve Henley that has Mickey embroidered on the pocket.

10. Disney frame for my favorite Photopass Photo from the trip. It will go on the shelf at my work with pictures from the last two trips.

11. Anything else that is Pluto!

So I guess this is the end. I'll probably pop in sometime on Saturday to say farwell but then I will be in Disney! I may post some on Facebook while I'm there but probably not too much as I will be busy having fun! If you want to be my friend (gosh that sounds pathetic) send me a PM and I'll tell you how to find me.

I’ve really enjoyed writing this and plan to do a TR once I get back.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this and I plan on doing more. I have three more WDW trips, Oct 2013, Jan 2014 and May 2014) in the works plus a tentative 2015 trip to Disneyland.

What an awesome shopping list!!! I would love to get a Disney D&B bag, but I just cannot justify spending that much on a purse. DH and the kids got me a Coach purse for Mother's Day three years ago, and I have carried nothing else for the last three years! :rotfl: And, it is still in REALLY good shape, so I guess it will just last forever. Luckily, they didn't pick out any kind of "trendy" design, it is just a nice black leather purse. I will be carrying that thing from now 'til Jesus comes. :rotfl2:

But you know what? I AM going to spend that much for a bag, I totally forgot! :confused3 Yep, I am having a Serendipi D~ bag made for my next trip! :cool1: But that is custom....just for me... no one else will have one exactly like it. :artist: So EXCITED!!!!! :hyper:

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

That is an impressive shopping list! I make one too, so I don't forget anything! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

I kind of like that you don't have any set plans your last day...this way you can do what the urge tells you to do.

I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving and if I don't get back here before you leave, have a magical trip. I'm not sure if I leave before or after you get back, but I'll be looking for your TR.

The funny thing is, I'm not really a purse person but for some reason I can't get enough of the Disney D&B bags. I already own two of them!

And a Serendipi D~ bag is definitely worth the money! Gorgeous when you see the pictures but 10 times better in person!

Yep, definitely needed a list for this trip! I've read too many TRs with souvenirs posted that I must have. :rotfl:

Thanks! I always try to leave a least a day towards the end of the trip without any plans so we can go back and catch things we missed. You never know for sure how crowded each park will be and what you might miss the first go round.

You have a great trip too! I can't wait to read how your suprise turns out.

OMG!!!!!!!!!! I am IN LOVE with that D&B Disney sketch leather bag - I may need to splurge on that one - it is gorgeous!

I love your shopping list - and I loved all the links you posted to it... I am a HUGE shopper as well - and I really need to stop for a while.

WHOOT!!!!

Would you all believe that I don't carry my own bags IRL??? :confused3 Josh says that I really need to make myself one. I can't carry my Donald UPB anymore, because the real Donald wrecked it in WDW, and I don't have another to carry. :confused3 So, if I need to carry one of my own bags IRL, I dig out my Donald PPP, and carry that. :lovestruc I do love it - but personally, I am not a backpack carrying type person.

The funny thing is, I'm not really a purse person but for some reason I can't get enough of the Disney D&B bags. I already own two of them!

And a Serendipi D~ bag is definitely worth the money! Gorgeous when you see the pictures but 10 times better in person!

Awww... Thank you so much for such a nice compliment Ariana. :lovestruc

I stopped by to catch up, to wish you a wonderful trip (but I am sure I will be here again before you leave) and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Made it to the airport! Luckily security wasn't bad. DH dropped me off at 6am and I made it to my gate by 6:35. Not bad! I never made it back on here this weekend so if I didn't reply to you sorry! So excited!

So excited to see you on your way Ariana! Have a safe flight and enjoy this wonderful trip with your mom! It will be such an amazing adventure!
