My one DD... 4 and a half.... is eating a ton of food over the last week. She is ravenous. She'll eat anything including healthy stuff.

Is this feeding the start of a growth spurt? She is not overweight at all.

To me too! DS goes through them now and then and man does he eat a lot!

Is she doing any sports? My DD swims and the morning after her swimming lesson she eats like a longshoreman! :rotfl:

Otherwise, be prepared to buy new shoes and pants!

MY DD 7 is currently doing the same thing, and wouldn't you know it, her pants are all too short, just in time to go back to school!

Yes, it sounds like a growth spurt. Also typically for my kids they'll need to sleep a little longer too since most of they growing happens during sleep.

Not yet, but starting on Saturday she and her sister start soccer.

I call it the "hollow leg" syndrome!
Wait until she's a teenager, she'll have 2 hollow legs!
Your lucky she's craving healthy foods.

My youngest daughter goes through this from time to time but really never seems to have huge growth spurts. But she eats a TON. Then goes back to picking like a bird, then on to eating like a horse. She is so tiny you can't believe she packs away that much food.

Growth spurt. Just make sure you are giving more "healthy" foods than not. A growth spurt fed by junk can lead to problems later on.

My 4.5 year old is doing the same thing. She suddenly wants healthy stuff and I am giving it to her. She just got done eating soup, carrots and spinach dip, and an apple. All these things she didn't like a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds like a growth spurt to me too......or a really weird thing with kids that age. My DS (just turned 5) has been doing the same thing. Also healthy stuff, which is good because I don't keep much junk food around!

My DS is 5 1/2, but doing that right now. Healthy, not healthy, anything edible is going down his throat. He is practically begging for food. But, he was a light weight, so I guess this is a good thing?!?
