i don't see much about this hotel. it looks great on the website though. i booked it for 5 nights in dec for $109. per night w/ AAA discount. we will check out of WDW and go to this hotel, we will be doing sw and us/ioa....seems like a good choice near these parks...what do you think?

anyone stayed here? tell me the good, bad and ugly...please!!

Well we stayed there this year. We used a realtor thank you "get up and go" card so we only paid like $8 a night for tax. so we thought it was great. Even though the maid forgot to finish cleaning the room and they had to come after we checked in to vacuum crackers off of the floor and finish putting pillows on the bed. They offered to give us 10.00 off the room but we knew we werent' paying that much! (lol)
The Sheraton World is a new hotel and an old hotel. Make sure you are staying in the tower. The old hotel is well....old. The beds are comfy but the shower has rust and the tiles are cruddy. I would not pay 109 a night for those rooms. The tower rooms/ the main hotel seemed much better. I have stayed in Orlando many times and I think you can do better for the money elsewhere depending on the season.

Not a personal referral but I was talking to another mother this morning at the playground. They just got back from a weekend trip from Orlando. They stayed at the Sheraton World. She said it was a nice hotel but didn't get any details.

It's a great hotel, I've stayed there on numerous ocassions.

Shame you already booked it...i found a nice deal at orlandovacation[dot]com offering the Sheraton at only $85/night from 12/01 - 12/25.

Maybe next time :cool1:

I stayed there in May. When I checked in I was given a "garden" room. I walked in and just about died. It was the worst hotel room i've ever seen. It was a total dump. The toilet had a ring, the shower was disgusting, the bathroom really just needed recleaned completely. The floor of the room was nasty. I picked up the phone and about gagged, it smelled like a combo of vomit and smoke even though it was a non smoking room. I used my cell to call the front desk. I begged to be moved but was told too bad. My coworker was in the room next to me which was just as bad. We walked to the front desk and talked to a manager. After about a 1/2 hr talk he agreed to move us to the tower rooms but we had to pay a $50 upgrade fee.

The tower rooms were much much better. It was like 2 different hotels. The public areas of the hotel were nice but I heard many many people complain about the rooms.

I hate to post negative since you already booked and got a good deal. The location for Sea World is good but just be sure you get the tower rooms.

thanks for the replies!

my ressie was totally refundable......and i cancelled it after reading this!

shoot, it looked great on the web site....oh well.

ok, back to the drawing boards.....

if anyone has any suggestions, heres what we would like (i think):

somewhere around int'l drive, between SW and US/IOA. december 26-30.
pool, prefer hot tub :woohoo: , maybe free breakfast?? , and CLEAN rooms!.....i would love around $100.00 per night, but i know thats pushing it that time of year.

thanks again! :wave2:

I highly reccommend the Caribe Royale Resort which is basically across the street from the Sheraton. The Caribe is a wonderful resort that we have stayed at quite a few times. I find it is much better value for your money than a Disney Hotel and i preferred it to the Disney Boardwalk. We usually stay in a 2 bedroom suite but my sister stayed in the 1 bedroom and it was just as nice. The 2brm suites have their own pool in the villa which we love. The main pool has a slide and the restaurant is great. Have a look. It is about 2 min from Epcot, grocery stores and an outlet mall. :cool1:
