Has anyone stayed in the Springs Section of Sheraton Vistana Resort? I have read a lot of reviews about Cascades and Lakes but not much on Springs. I know that it is older and scheduled for renovation. Do you have any other info?

Anyone have any pictures of the Springs?

We did an RCI exchange and are tentatively scheduled for Unit #0936. Anyone know where that is located? I registered for Diamond Lane and requested near pool and activities center.

Other questions about the resort (I want to minimize unnecessary packing)...

hairdryers provided?
towel service at pools?
Are pool toys allowed (diving rings, splash balls, etc.)?

This is our first trip to Disney since 2003. Any other general suggestions, comments, etc. would be greatly appreciated. (We are travelling with a grandma and 2 children (ages 3 and 8).

Thanks so much. I can't wait!

Pat (Spiceycat) can help u with the questions about the Springs----I'm pretty certain she has pics too. She might be on vacation now---not sure.

But to answer your other questions :
1)Yes to blow dryers in the room
2)Yes to towel service (you need to pick them up at one of the Rec Centers and then return them there when you are done. Many just use the towels from their rooms and wash them since w/d is in each villa
30Yes....pool toys allowed :)

Since you are traveling with grandma and small children....perhaps request a "ground" floor villa since the Springs have no elevators. Are you certain you're getting the Springs ?

Thanks for your quick response Maria! :)

Both the Vistana resort person and the Diamond Lane person indicated that we were assigned to the "Springs" area. Since I have no experience with this resort, I was not sure if I should be thrilled or be ready to ask for a move.

I appreciate your answers to my resort questions. That will be a tremendous help as we begin packing.

I look forward to hearing from Pat (Spiceycat) especially if she has stayed in the "Springs".

You're welcome.....until Spicecat can join us (I've seen her photos), I did find this one photo of the Springs on the owner's website (this section of the resort is slated for a major rehab next spring) :

We are doing an RCI exchange thru my uncle's timeshare in Oct. How did you find out the unit you are assigned already? Thanks Kathy

The Springs is the smallest, most compact section on the resort. You are very close to the Cascades section---simply cross a small street. If you do get this exact unit (Vistana reserves the right to switch things how they see fit), you would have a view of the Springs pool and Rec Center. I believe this unit is also the 3rd floor ? Keep in mind there are no elevators in this section, so if stairs are an issue for you, I'd call Vistana and make them aware of this. You can also make your requests known via the online form :

You could also fax them : Fax 407 239 3111

Thanks for the picture, Maria. This looks nicer than I expected. Also thanks for the info. about the unit location. I requested by the pool in the Diamond Lane check-in form.

Kathy - As far as finding out the unit in advance, I called the resort twice to get info. on Diamond Lane check-in. After the first call, I knew we were assigned to Springs. After the second call, I was given that unit number. From what I have learned, this unit is not 100% guaranteed as they make some last minute switches (we arrive 7/6). I would call a week or two before your arrival and see what you find out. Good Luck!

Mia,

Is the Springs comparable to the Falls or is it new. It looks much lighter than the Falls. Is it a two story complext like the Falls. I think I might ask for this one.

The Springs is newer than the Falls. They are 3 story buildings. The Falls is the second oldest just after the Courts.
This is the only photo I have of the Falls interior from the owner's site :

We usually stay in the Falls but I like the look of the springs.
