Howdy,
Has anyone stayed in a 1-bedroom (sleeps 4) at VR lately? We will be staying there thanks to a acquaintance's bonus vacation through RCI. The trip is not free, but the price is very reasonable ($229 for 7 nights!!!). I read a lot about the 2-bedrooms on the board, but havent seen much about the 1-bedrooms. I will join Diamond Lane prior to the trip--what should I be requesting??? We were also offered a 2-bedroom at Westlake Vacation Villas (sleeps 6), but the reviews I've been reading of Westlake are not as complimentary as Vistana's. I also want to be as close to Disney as possible. All input and advice is greatly appreciated! :wave2:

Can't answer about Vistana but we are just back from a stay at Westgate Vacation Villas, while our unit was a 2 bedroom loft that slept 10 I don't know what the similarities there would be but as far as the resort goes, it was great! Our room was clean and very nice. We had a screened in patio/deck to enjoy. The pool in our section was huge, as well as 12 others on property. We rented from an owner so had owner priveledges. No one ever called or bothered us about doing the time share presentation, the mentioned it when they showed us to the rooms but that was the end of it. When I booked through the owner I was kind of apprehensive as to some of the things I read here, but we found it to be outstanding! Would stay there again in a heart beat.

Hope this helps some.

You will love Vistana. All the one bedroom lock-offs are in the newer Lakes and Cascades section. The Lakes, while not the newest, are probably a little larger than the Cascades. Not sure you really need to request anything. If you want the newest villas on site, ask for the Cascades. They are also in the more busy section of the resort---closer to the General Store and Zimmies restaurant. The Lakes are very nice and in a quieter section of the resort and closer to the Flamingo Cafe restaurant. The Cascades pool is larger, but so is this section. All buildings in both sections have elevators. Have a great time !

Thanks for the info. So it is a known fact that I should be in a newer section? I was concerned about that. The reservation says the unit has a full kitchen (apparently some have only a range top?) and that it may or may not have a balcony. When I go to the Starwood website they have three different sized 1-bedroom units (Cascades and Lakes). One is 400 something square feet, the other is 500 something square feet and the other is a "premium" 1-bedroom, which is over 800 feet. I wonder which one we will get? I'm sure we will have a fantastic time regardless of where we end up, and for $229 for a whole week, who can complain??!!!
