Received offer from Sheraton Vistana Resort ( heard of it but, have no idea where it actually is, etc.)

$149 for 4 nights in 1 BR Villa plus $100 spending money.

Is this a "good" deal as TS offers go?

Letter indicates I can pay $79 to "reserve this limited invitation and pay the balance of $70 when you reserve your arrival date" up to 12 months later.

Anyone do the tour, how much time does it eat up?

Think I'd be out the deposit if we cancel later?

That's a great rate:)

If you have to cancel, I would guess that you might be out the $79, *but* that with a little asking, they would probably re-date your coupon, and extend it for another year.

Once you're on the tour, just say no to everything, you're there because of the great rate, and that re-sales are way cheaper than buying from them. 90 minutes - some are now 100 minutes, and not including the free breakfast - off you go:)

HTH!
:sunny:

We are mulling this offer over as well. I believe you only get the $100 if you sit through the presentation. I think you can decline the invitation to the presentation but don't get the $100 back.

I can say no to anything but I don't think I want to give up an hour and a half of my vaca for $100 so I think we'll pass on that.

We will probably do the deal and keep the Starwood points we usually use at the Swan/Dolphin (and the 8K points in htis deal) for a vaca in the Bahamas the following year.

I received the same offer and booked it for April. I was upgraded to a two bedroom with no charge, and was told that no timeshare tour was required.

We are also booked for the end of April and got upgraded to a 2 bedroom. We were told we did not have to sit thru anything--just have a good time. I would have thought it too good to be true if we had not previously stayed here, but it is a very nice resort. I am thanking my lucky stars (and ljs mom who helped me with the phone number when I lost the card!).

I called the phone number on the offer & spoke to cust. serv. agent.

She was pretty pushy, trying to close the deal. Said there was a presentation to participate.

I asked her how close to WDW they were & she replied that she had no idea, the phone center's located in California.LOL

she offered to extend it 3 months since I was unsure of our dates.

Called back & spoke to another person. I was asked for my reservation number. It's referenced under your name. Different "types" of offers go out - was told this is one of their better deals. They indicated that we don't have to sit through a presentation but, would probably be asked if we want to, if we do stay there (hmmm?).

Additionally, was told that we'd automatically get the $100, cash, @ check-in. DH thinks it sounds almost too good to be true.

I was told they have availability throughout the year still open.

I got the deal, paid to be upgraded and have to do the timeshare presentation. I thought mine was a great deal until I just read the previous threads. :confused3

This sounds like a really great rate - can you tell me how you received the invite? I'd love to get one!

Thanks!

Came in the mail. We've gotten a few before & I've always thrown them away but, this seemed better than most.

Assume you could call them & ask. PM me if you'd like the phone number on invite.

As an update...

I was able to book SV for June 17 thru 20th. Said I'd get conf letter in a week.

Did have to pay FL/room tax of $14 per night. Think it normally rents for $140+ night, so it still seems like a darn, good deal ($105 for 4 nights!).

We will be checking out 1 night early (to go to BWV). Can't imagine that would be a problem(?)
