Has anyone been to this hotel? How is it? It looks very nice on their site, but then I have read some so-so reviews. I have it booked for three nights for free on my Starwood Preferred Guest points. Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this property. TIA! ;)

I haven't stayed, but it always has looked nice. Only possible flaw is that it is very close to the airport so there may be a lot of air traffic.

I will be at Hilton Mission Bay starting tomorrow night. If I pass the Sheraton (I have to drive into downtown on Friday) I'll try to look at it a little more closely and write about it.

I drove by it while we were in San Diego. I couldn't tell much from the outside - but there were two seperate buildings and a bit of distance between the two. The bigger building (probably the one with the pool area) was the building closest to the airport. The other building though looked a little nicer location wise. Both are extremely close to the airport and probably do get a fair amount of air traffic.

We stayed at Mission Bay which is several miles up from the airport. Even there, the air traffic was visible and could be heard. It just wasn't directly overhead.

Thanks for the input honeymom! :) I know it is pretty close to the airport, but I figure three nights free in an *upscale* hotel means it doesn't have to be perfect... I have always had pretty good luck with Sheratons, so I hope that the tradition continues! :thumbsup2

Hi!

We spent a night here last year. It is close to the airport, but we weren't bothered by it. We had a room with a view of the marina. It was great! It was really nice to sit outside and just look over the marina and out over the water. The breakfast they offered was really good too. We would definitely stay here again. We had a great time, I would love to stay there for free. I hope you like it.
