Hi all -
Continental canceled our flights into ORlando this trip so ended up changing our flights and flying in a day early and needing a hotel for 1 night before our move to the on property. I like staying on property but I am not a "onsite snob" :sad2: We ended up staying at the Sheraton Safari.

Words can not express how wonderful this hotel and the staff were to my family. Whwn we walked in to check into the hotel there was young gentleman cleaning the alligator tanks. My son stood there and watched him. He struck up a conversation with my son asking had he ever seen a real alligator before and proceding to ask him if he had ever touched one after a few minutes. I was watching out of the corner of my eye as I checked in. He asked my son to hang on for a minute while he finished something up. After a minute he took one of the alligators out and sat down next to my son. By this time I was done but stodd off to the side and just watched. He sat down with my son and just chatted with him about the alligator answering all of his questions and telling him everything he knew about these creatures. They spenat 5 minutes just sitting there talking !! :teeth:
We went out to get all of our bags and head out for dinner. We went out to dinner and I realized that I had forgot to tell them I needed a crib for our 8mo. When we arrived back at the hotel I went to the front desk they said they would immediatly send someone up with it and asked if there was anything else I needed.
We went up to our room for a few minutes and after watching a little TV and listening to my son keep telling me how much he wanted to swim, I gave in and told him to get ready. i called down to the front desk again to ask what the pool hours were and after she told me she told me that the crib was on its way ....without me ever asking.

I went downstairs with my son and swam for about an hour. The snake slide was closed but it was still a very nice pool area and the hot tub felt great.

When we headed back inside one of the men at the desk saw us and yelled across the lobby wanting to know if we got the crib and was it OK ? Are we SURE we didn't need anything else tonight ?
My DH and I were SO impressed with their customer service - Disney has NEVER treated us like such royalty like the Sheraton did.
And the beds ....they were to die for after a long day of traveling !! Our room was very clean.
It is located right around the corner from Downtown Disney - not quite walking distance but a left turn out of the parking lot of the hotel and another right onto Disney property and you are right there !!
I just wanted to give everyone my review and I would not hesitate to stay here again - in fact I would LOVE to stay here again. So would my DH and my son !!

I stayed there about a year ago and would definitely return. Found the rooms clean and comfortable - also close to DTD!!!

Thanks for the review! We are staying there one night precruise and 2 nights post cruise. I am glad it was so great. We have really only had great experiences staying at the Sheraton/Westin properties.

Was the slide closed for the day only for cleaning or something or was it more of a long term thing?? We will be there June 26 and July 1 and 2.

Maggie
