Your help please. Virgin have just changed my hotel to above!. I had chosen to stay in Hotel Plaza due to being a non driver and being able to walk to DTD & Crossroads. Is this Hotel within walking distance of anywhere? How frequent are the coaches to DTD and the parks?. What standard is the hotel (I like clean, fresh rooms and good service). I need you advice as if need be I will have to grin and bear it and pay extra to stay in the Buena Vista Palace as at least I know the location is good. I would appreciate any advice you may have.

Walking distance is some 4 blocks from Safari to Downtown Disney. Is like a mere 15-20 minutes walk.

We stayed there last year and it was great :thumbsup2
Lovely and clean.
We were upgraded (at no extra charge) from a room to a suite and were given vouchers for a free meal in the restaurant for our anniversary :cool1:
It's within easy walking distance to Winn Dixie, Crossroads shopping centre is right next door and there's a Walgreens across the road.
The entrance to WDW is just down the road.
We'd certainly stay there again.
:wave2:

The hotel isn't really walking distance to DTD. I'd try to move to one of the other DTD hotels. Without a car I'd even consider a Disney value resort.

Can you drop the hotel from your package and just book your own hotel?

I really like this hotel. There are several restaurants within walking distance, but, in my opinion, the Downtown Disney marketplace area is too far away to walk. I haven't used their shuttle service, but I know they have one.

You could DEFINITELY walk to DTD if you need to. I wouldn't do it every single day, but you can do it for sure. I own Sheraton timeshare right down the road (further from the entrance of DTD) and we have walked before. Don't get me wrong, it's a long walk! But DEFINITELY doable.

Plus, the hotel offers shuttles, so you should be fine!!!

We stayed there on our last trip to WDW for 9 days, I think it's a little far to walk to downtown disney so we called a cab and they zipped us over ther for cheap it was worth it!!! I thought it was a nice nice motel. The sweet sleeper beds are SUPER comfortable, they give you 5 pillows per bed and a big soft comforter. We loved sitting out on our balcony that over looked the pool, but make sure and ask for a good pool view on an upper floor. They have a great pool bar and snack shack too. Our kids also loved the 79 foot snake water slide, it was really fast. You wont be disappointed for a moderate priced motel.

In the morning you may be able to walk it, but at night after a long day, it is a far walk. I have stayed there & really enjoyed it, but I had a car. That was the problem, me & every other guest that trip had a car & there were never any parking spots late at night (after parks closed). I would have to circle & circle until someone pulled out... that is my only complaint about with that hotel.
