Sheraton Hotels Questions

I have stayed at both using my SPG points.

I agree with most everyone has said.

GG - too far away. Being literally across the street from Target takes away from the feeling of being on vacation for me. And if you take the ART it goes around this giant loop of several blocks and feels like a long trip. Rather plain rooms and the bath has no tub, just a shower if that matters to you. That said, the parking is cheaper, everything still looks very new and the staff are as friendly and helpful as you could ask for.

Park - Really nice property. View rooms are awesome (for fireworks especially), restaurant is good, walk isn't bad to TS lot, either is the shuttle. I had issues with the staff here. My Starwood Amex declined and rather than calling them for me (or with me), they asked me to step aside and provide a different CC. After that they treated me like a second class citizen. I called Amex right away and was told that the system was down and all cards were declined for a 20 minute period. Amex was very apologetic, Sheraton front desk not so much. Once the parking arm wouldn't open after inserting my key so I buzzed the intercom. No one answered and I had to go back inside to get another key. No apology or anything. Good customer service goes a long way in my book. But again, the hotel itself and the rooms are my favorite of all the offsites.

The Club level option would be very tempting for me.

Good luck deciding.:)

I'll just point out that currently the Sheraton Park is offering a 25$ per room/credit which can be used at their restaurants and room service.

I stayed at the Sheraton Park last year and was very satisfied. We had asked for Park view rooms with adjoining doors and they fulfilled our request no problem. The property was clean the pool area was nice and the restaurants provided a decent selection. It was about a 15minute walk, doable but towards the end of our stay we bought the ART passes.

Really?? I'm staying at the Sheraton starting June 14th, will I be able to get the $25 restaurant credit? I booked it several weeks ago online. I would LOVE to get that if I can!

I just checked their site, and it doesn't mention the promo but the tour companies here all show that the hotel offers $25/nt room credit. Perhaps it's just a canadian promo? Sorry to have mislead you if that is the case

edit: I did a quick google and it is being offered through getawaytoday vacations as well.. perhaps the hotel just isn't offering it themselves but via tour companies? Probably wouldn't hurt to ask.

Ok cool! Yeah it sounds like a give away just for vacation packages, but I will just call myself just to make sure! Who knows? But thanks anyway! :)

Booo no credit for me as I am a staying on a starhot ,so I get the room dirt cheap but no promotions etc....Trust me the room discount beats any promotion. I love my rate !! And trust me if it werent for me starhot rate we would not be able to do this trip at all.

We usually head down to a villa property offsite in Florida or the Dolphin/Swan at WDW but surprisingly I have done this week for a little bit cheaper just because we do not have to rent a car.

I know the GG is farther away but the club level is really what is making my decision. The cont breakfast and evening snacks and pop/water/tea/coffee throughout the day really is adding up to be pretty useful. Plus no charge for highspeed internet on the club floor.

I know it takes away from the whole experience but with a bipolar 14 year old it might be best that we get away from the hustle and bustle at the end of the day anyways.

The tub really does not make a difference but I am positive some rooms have tub/shower going by what is in our internal booking system. But either way my boys can shower a nice hot bath after a long day at the park might be nice but not the end of the world.

Your right a little customer service goes along way and the response to the emails I sent to both properties has gone a long way as well. I am sure we would love The Sheraton Park but we can not beat having a bite to eat for free before we hit the disneyland.

I think I have made my final decision but I flip flop back and forth everyday. I still hold both reservations and are even contemplating maybe staying at both and dividing our time.

I think it would be great to experience both but who knows. Travelling with a group of 7(4 seniors,14 year old and 6 year old plus myself ) will be more than complicated to begin with so I am not sure I really want to get into switching hotels etc.

Hard decision. I've heard good things about both places. We're going to stay at Sheraton Park because I like the idea of being so close.

So do I buttt the club floor makes a difference. And target will help with some in room snacks and stuff for late at night.

Wow, this is a great thread for me since I'm staying at the Sheraton Park. Lots of good tips.

Question: any chance I'll be pleasantly surprised with a mini fridge in my room? The web site doesn't mention anything. I'd like to pack some of my own food for breakfasts or purchase from nearby.

Do you mind if I add some questions?

We are trying to stay on points for 5 nights in 2013 and deciding between Sheraton Park or Residence Inn Maingate. I find the distances equal. It really comes down to space for 2 adults and 2 kids and the lack of the kitchen at the Park.

I am wondering about the amenities at the Park for a longer stay. We'd need 2 queens, would love a suite, and maybe even pay for an upgrade to club. But the SPG website really isn't giving many options, basically just 2 queens or king on points. I can't find a listing for points or points + cash for the club level. Also can't find anything about suites, though the hotel describes them as available.

How big is the refrigerator at the Park?

Can anyone posting here give me some insight? Thanks so much!

Oh and regarding the $$ credit toward food - we looked at some dates in Sept. and saw a $50 voucher offered. It was on the Sheraton website.

You can book a club room for 8000 points per night, with the 5th night free. You need to call to book. I don't think there are very many suites at the Park ( maybe 4??), but if available you could book for 14000 points per night.

The fridge is a small dorm size. -- Suzanne

Ok FINALLY went and checked if I would get the $25 food voucher and sadly I do not with my package deal! :( Oh well, not the end of the world but I WILL get a king size bed and on a high floor so that alone got me happy!

And I'm so happy to hear they have a small fridge! Will be stocking up now that I know that, especially without that voucher lol!

As far as buying some food for the fridge. Where can I pick up some sodas, food items, etc. nearby?

There is a 7-11 right on the corner of Katella and Harbor! And actually on Harbor, there are PLENTY of little mini-markets for the various hotels and motels, they are just not seen on the main strip like 7-11 is. They probably cost a little more than if you go to a target or a grocery store, but they will have general items!

When I call them I'm told I can't book a suite with points, suites are $650/night. Its a regular room for 7000 points, club room for 8000 points. Both are pool view, an additional fee ($40?/night) for park view. There are limited adjoining rooms on the club floor, so we could get there and have to downgrade to non-club to have adjoining rooms. (They could give 2 rooms next to each other, but with small kids that's not an option for us.)

The 5th night free is on the SPG website, not through the hotel.

We will be staying at Sheraton Park next week, club level, on points. I'll let you know how it is. I've called a couple of times with questions about airport shuttles, car services, etc., and everyone has been pleasant and helpful. My husband has made all reservations with numerous changes. He hasn't complained about service.

This is our first DL trip. We usually go to WDW and stay at the Swan (love those delux alcove rooms). I'm trying to keep my expectations reasonable.

We loved the Sheraton Park, stayed there on Starwood points, club level was a nice way to start the day, with a good breakfast spread. Our room had a great view of the parks looking onto DCA's backside ...what will soon be Carsland.

Just curious, what is included in the club level breakfast?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently at the Sheraton right now and in fact I am typing on their internet computer down at the lobby right now, which are 24 hours AND free btw! And I have to say I REALLY love it! Nice big room, friendly staff, very convient to get to the TS tram and just a comfortable place to stay! :)

Its my final night after a 5 day trip but man was it a great experience, both the parks and the hotel room. Would glady stay here again! :woohoo:

Is that the Sheraton Anaheim, that looks like a castle, or Sheraton Park?

We stayed at the Sheraton Park for 6 nights at the end of June 2012. We stayed on the Club Level.

Club Level breakfast included: coffee, milk, juice, cappuccino, hot chocolate, teas, bottled water, a gorgeous array of fruit, breads, and pastries, cereal, bagels, hard boiled eggs, peanut butter, jellies/jams, honey, and cream cheese.

Evening offerings included beer, wine, mixed drinks, sodas, bottled water, another gorgeous array of fruit, vegetable tray, cheese tray, crackers, chips with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa, and two hot hors d'oeuvres (examples: bacon wrapped scallops, chicken kabobs, meatballs, egg rolls, crab cakes).

Bottled water and whole fruit are available all day. We ate here in most
evenings in lieu of a full dinner, grabbing another heavy snack in the parks while waiting for WoC, Fireworks, or Fantasmic.
