Sheraton Anaheim hotel

The tropicana is literally across the street, HoJos is considered walkable by most, the Sheraton is I beleive over a mile away, and fronts a very busy major street. I would consider it inconvienent but safe, bordering into uncomfortable after dark.

If you do end up staying at the Sheraton, may I suggest the Garden Grove one? It's on Harbor and across the street from Target. They also offer a shuttle. It's a wee bit further away but I think the difference in price is significant, especially if you're staying more than one night.

We stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim last year during spring break, and we walked to/from the park for our 3 days there. Our friends who stayed at the Red Lion across the street also walked. We saw lots of families walking down S. Harbor the same time as us (and we closed down the park at midnight) and never felt threatened at all. It's about a 10-min walk.

We also had friends who stayed a the Sheraton Anaheim. The mom & dad in the family took turns walking back and forth to the hotel to check on their dog in the hotel room and to walk the dog. They walked up and down S. Harbor about several times that whole day!!!

I agree. Having stayed at both, the Sheraton Garden Grove is much nicer than the Sheraton Anaheim. The benefit with the Sheraton Anaheim is that it's walking distance, whereas the Sheraton Garden Grove is absolutely too long of a walk. We took the Sheraton Garden Grove shuttle (their own, not the ART) and left the car at the hotel. We booked through getawaytoday.com, which offered us a sweet package deal that included complimentary parking, free shuttle, and kids eat free.

Just so everyone is clear, there are 3 Sheraton hotels with Anaheim as part of the name. The Sheraton Anaheim is on Ball Road, north of Disneyland. Walkable along DL Drive in a pinch, but luckily there is a free shuttle. It looks like a castle.

Sheraton Park at the Anaheim Resort is on Harbor Blvd, just south of Katella. It is across from the Red Lion and close to the Convention Center. It has ART shuttle service and is walkable for most. It is a high rise.

The Sheraton Garden Grove -- Anaheim South is also on Harbor, but it it's much further south. Most would agree it is not walk able, but there appears to be a shuttle for which the hotel charges. It is a mid- rise and has the newest construction.

My personal favorite is the Sheraton Park. We like being able to walk. We usually use SPG points to upgrade to the club floor. -- Suzanne
