Well, perhaps that was a bit OTT saying my heart goes out to her so I shall rephrase it by saying that I can feel a smidgeon of sympathy for anyone who acting in an immature and stupid way, because in fact they ARE very young and immature, ends up completely out of their depth. Yes, she should suffer the consequences but she's not evil and she's not wicked, at least I don't think so. She says (according to Sky News) that she was joking with the officer who was checking her bags, and it was part of a conversation rather than a bald statement. He didn't hear what she said at first (hence the repetition) and as soon as she saw his face she realised what a stupid thing she'd said. Haven't we all at some time in our lives opened our mouths and put a size nine in?? I know I have. OK, never in quite so spectacularly a stupid fashion, but I've done it, and as I said in my other post, I have a 21 year old son who often opens his mouth before putting his brain in gear.
And I still feel really sorry for her parents.
