P.S. cant go wrong with a TEXAS GIRL ;) you guys are a cute couple

Ditto about the Texas girl! Every Texas wedding I've been to had a Groom's cake. My DH's was chocolate, with chocolate icing and covered with chocolate dipped strawberries - Yummm!

Congratulations to the two of you!!

Congrats you 2! How cool to meet on the DIS! May you have MANY wonderful happy years together. :love2:

I used to be a wedding planner in Ohio and a lot of the weddings had a grooms cake. My husband and I also had a Disney Wedding (The Lion king is our movie and our song is Can You Feel The Love Tonight) that was held in Columbus Ohio. If you need any ideas let me know and I will try to help. Congrats to you both!!!!

:rotfl: Okay... but Hidden Mickey how? A lime green Mickey candy inside the cake somewhere? An ice cream layer shaped like a Mickey head? What exactly?

My DH and I had hidden mickey's on our attire! We told everyone about the idea at the rehearsal dinner and dared them to find them. Oddly enough No one did! I had long lace sleeves on my gown, so I got a crystal stick on mickey head tattoo on my arm under the lace. DH had "Mickey Mouse" and the shape of Mickey's head on the side of the heel of his shoe. :) it was fun! We had a cinderella and prince charming cake topper. They don't make it anymore, so I'm really glad we pony'd up the dough!

Did you hear that, Bill? Give the woman what she wants! ;)

As far as the mickey on the inside, I don't know. I just dream it up. It's up to somebody else to make it happen. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I envision it all being cake, just the mickey shape is a different color. I bet the Grand Floridian Bakery could make it happen! Those people are amazing. Have you seen the piece on the Food Network? They make a Mad Hatter's Cake that probably goes for about twice my monthly salary. But it looks out of this world!!!

Wow, only the power of the DIS! Congratulations! :)

i also met my wife on the net years ago. almost 10 years ago to be exact.

Congrats to you both!!!!

your story brings back fond memories of our courtship.

a dis wedding.... :cool1: :cool1:

Congratulations! I "met" my husband on the internet. After several e-mails, we realized we had met in person before. What were the chances of that!

Ooh! A Mad Hatters cake! I have seen those before. At least it's Disney themed :cool1: :earboy2:

They are awesome, aren't they? And to watch them make it, it's just like they almost throw it together and it comes out so cool. I wish I had talent like that! :sunny:

Thanks everyone for the congratulations :-)

This is all amazing. Like I said, I haven't actually propsed yet, but as you probably can tell, Christy knows its coming, and I kinda hinted her and all of you as to exactly when. We've already been discussing the wedding and honeymoon and such and decided that part of the honeymoon will involve Disney. I also suggested that maybe on the wedding cake we have a hidden mickey that only the two of us know is there as a sentimental thing :-)

Speaking of a wedding cake...it's poll time... How many of you out there have ever heard of a seperate grooms cake (like a chocolate cake) in addition to the white wedding cake???? I grew up on the east coast and have been to more then a couple weddings and I've never seen a seperate chocolate cake. Christy insists its done frequently though :-) I'm just curious as to if everyone out there knows of this as well...

(Isn't my future wife gorgeous!!!) :-)

Congratulations to both of you! My dh and I met online in 2000, and we've been married now for 4 years and have a 1 yr. old son! :love2: :earsboy:

As for the groom's cake, it is a Southern thing, so that is why she's heard of it and you haven't. You MUST have a groom's cake!!!!! I command it!! (North Carolina born, here.) :wizard: Hee hee, I vote for the chocolate cake with lime green tinted frosting, as well! Congrats again and good luck!! Yes, your future wife is beautiful!! :sunny:
