Has anyone stayed on site and used this service? It's a wash and fold service at $2.50 a pound with a 10 lbs minimum with delivery/pickup and a 24 hour turnaround. I almost always do laundry on vacation because I hate packing so many clothes. $25 minimum seems well worth it to me to not plan on bringing detergent and spending time washing and folding laundry.

Have you used another wash and fold service on site that you can recommend?

I use a laundry service in my home city- I love spending the same amount of money for someone else doing the work! :cool1: Additionally, I get about 2-4 hours back of my life since I don't have to watch my clothes. I recommend a laundry service for anyone that is working or not.

HOWEVER- my laundry service at home only charge 83 cents per pound (and THAT is even on the top end of laundry services here), meaning that 40 lbs of laundry plus a tip cost less than $40, detergent, clothes hanging, and folding including. Nearly $3 is REALLY costly, even for someone who is picking up the clothes from your room. I'd try to find something in the $1.50-$2.00 range (although more expensive, you're getting a more accurate value).

On one hand I am advocating for you to use a laundry service to get back your vacation time. On the other hand, I'm worried that you'll be paying too much for said service. Could you buy clothes when you arrive so you don't have to pack so much? Is the over-packing a problem or do you also not like having dirty clothes when you come home? How long is your vacation for, anyway? Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to help.

:offtopic: That website had some questionable links on it. I'd be skeptical, unless other ppl can vouch for this service...

I'm totally with you there. $2.50 is expensive. When I travel (non Disney) I usually pay $0.85- 1.00 per pound. It's just that my searches weren't turning much up. I also thought the site was weird (circa 1996 anyone?) so that's why I'm asking here.

I'm just wondering how long you are staying and how much laundry you will have. And where you are staying. I believe DVC villas have their own washers and driers. Every resort has a laundromat with large capacity washers and driers. They only cost $2 each per load. I bring my own detergent in a zip lock bag- it doesn't take up much space at all. Put in the wash, grab a seat by the pool or do something else for 30 min. and then throw everything in the drier. In an hour you're done, and for a lot less than a service would charge you. I typically do laundry mid trip on a non park day or in the evening when we're finished for the day. They're open 24/7 with your room card/MB.

I am only staying 5 nights at POR with the possibility to add more nights off site. My time is valuable. I don't want to do laundry plain and simple. This will be my first time at Disney, I have a busy schedule before and after arriving and if I can go home with less laundry AND not have to spend time doing it at the resort, that makes it worth it.

I know I can do laundry there. I just don't want to. I want someone else to do it for me on vacation so I don't worry about it.

Most laundry facilities at the resorts are near the quiet pools. I usually throw a load in while every is swimming. Join everyone while the wash is in the washer and dryer. Not much time lost because I am not sitting in the laundry room. Also, when we stayed at Akl, the laundry room was right down the hall. I would do a load in the morning while everyone was getting ready. Go back to the room while the load was washing or drying. It really didn't feel like it took too much time because I wasn't waiting in the laundry room.

Yes, 1BR and larger do. Very helpful. :laundy:

I too am curious if anyone has used this service. I agree the website gives me pause..... I was looking into a laundry service possibility because we will be staying 7nts at PBH and they do not have onsite self-laundry facilities. We can go over to RPR and use their self laundry but it seems like a hassle to take over a large suitcase either via water launch(changing at Citywalk) or via taxi.

So I was curious... because HELLO? Can you imagine the amount of laundry I do in a week?

And in Richmond, VA I'm finding $2ish/lb too with 10 lbs min. I'll ask around and see what else I can find. This would be great during busy seasons here!
