I was gonna ask, "You guys like cold weather?" until I realized that it's in celsius. Where I live, it's gonna be between 48 degrees and 59 degrees for the next ten days except for this Saturday. It will be 67 degrees. It's gonna rain and thunder on Saturday which may not work out too well for Six Flags. And it's going to be 49 degrees and mostly cloudy on my birthday. That sucks. And this is all in Farenheit. lol

It's gonna be in the high 80s and low 90s in Disney World this week and part of next (I can only look at the next 10 days) so hopefully it will be nice during our trips.

Celsius is how we roll up here

It's 26C the first two days we're there (so 78F) but that's a typical high end Canadian summer for us, which is why Chibi will burn (I burn like I'm a redhead D: )

for portable HDs- I cant live without my LaCie http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0024R57U0...e=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B0024R57U0 If you really take that many pictures and are nervous about it, I would go for one of those. That, or buy a bag full of SD cards and pack Pelican cases. Both are good options. (When on location, I back up the files AND store the memory cards )

Malkin Update! It's CRAFT TIME!

With all this talk of exploding and glitter and jars, I decided I would kick the long weekend off with a craft project.

Megpie's is Green and filled with dark Slytherin/Mardi Gras colors. Lots of Purples, Greens and Metallics.

My and Chibi's Crafty project came in the mail today, but there was no one to sign for it so it's spending the weekend at the Fed-Ex facility. But since it involves sewing, it has to wait until next weekend anyways.

And Tux. Well...I haven't thought of Tux's craft surprise yet, but I have a week, it'll come!

You can take your camera card to ooohh i think its a Kodak place in Epcot and they will burn it to a cd . We did that last time when we took too many photos. (as if)

The other option which Malkin may be forgetting (or she did and I'm just oblivious) is that we both have mobile me and can stash our photos on the server until we return home to the semi-frozen north I didn't forget, I just remembered how "well" it handled uploading our photoshoot the last time.
Small Update from Chibi:

Today was officially my last Monday before vacation!!! I'm taking next week off for.... a few reasons. Honestly I debated about the verbal vomit I'm about to throw into the PTR for a few days now. I'd type up half posts, hate it, and then delete it. So here goes!

Of Work:
Not only was it my last Monday before we go to WDW, but its my last Monday I'll be having at the store EVER. Once we get back from vacation (and I have my vacation pay to pay back Malkin for all the goodies I'll be buying) I'm quitting my job. The thought alone is one of many things that have been a trigger for my anxiety attacks the last few weeks. I've been with the store now for 7 years!! But, I don't enjoy myself at work anymore, and I always told myself money or not, when I start being miserable going to work...is when I need to switch jobs.

It doesn't help that I'm working 40+ hours to manage the store but only being paid for 22-25 hours a week. In a world of job insecurities companies can get away with this it seems. Or that I'm being jerked around left and right over the management position that I've been working since June of last year. So 5 days after we get back from WDW I'm signing papers at a call center and leaving my job. A small step in getting out of Orillia and making it 70% easier to transfer to a location in Toronto, (where Malkin and I will have the most amazing living room EVER!).

Of Life:
The last month has been an emotional roller coaster. Really close friends of the family were killed about a month ago. I won't go into details, the other 4 on this account know what happened and they're my pillar of support (P.S. I'm totally crying as I type T_T).

A few weeks ago (the same week Malkin and I debuted the Rapunzel and Gothel costumes) my old highschool teacher and really good friend / music instructor was taken in for emergency brain surgery. It turbed out to be Glioma, the bad kind of cancer, and they've given him 6 months to a year. No ammount of MK Rope Drop music helped that week. Though he SEEMS fine, it almost makes it harder to talk to him because he truthfully seems no different than he did a month ago. Its heartbreaking.

The three days before we leave for WDW the highschool is putting on their musical. Beauty and the Beast, and now they have to do it without him and his wife (the school's drama teacher). And a few weeks after they'll be going to Nationals for MusicFest, again without him. I've stepped up and this next week before we leave I'm drowning in work to help them keep on track the words "the show must go on" have never hurt so much to hear.


Disney and Pixie dust WILL make it better, that's what's going to get me through these last 4 days of work. Sorry I didn't warn you Malkin that I was vomiting this post into the PTR. You guys are my pillar of stability and sanity right now! Though I can guarantee you 10000000000000% that I will die when I see the castle.

I feel better now, and though I started the post upset, I'm now feeling better. <3s all you guys!

P.S. In less than 2 weeks I'll have spent my very first night at WDW EVER. I'M SO EXCITE!!!! (I lost the D a few weeks ago ) Also, my brain still doesn't process what happens once the counter hits 0....

Real life stinks sometimes and even though you are going through lots of heartache and sadness, I'm glad that you have a trip to look forward to to help you through. So I felt like just coming in to scream
"9 DAYS TO LION KING. IT'S SINGLE DIGIT TIME"(note: time is not reflected in the ticker)​

Was on the excessive side. So I decided instead to also tell you a little back story about the Harry Potter portion of our trip.

I think it's been mentioned here before that we're all giant Harry Potter nerds, but it bares repeating. Mostly because we have almost as many Harry Potter themed shirts as Disney themed shirts going on the trip with us.

And I don't think it's right to lie, as we get closer, I'm becoming more and more excited to see WWoHP. I blame the deep-impact that the books had on me as I grew up and the fact that I have renewed my love of the series through the YouTube parody A Very Potter Musical. HELLZ YES AVPM! =D I'm also a huge fan of this awesome musical. If any of you guys know Darren Criss from Glee, he got his start starring and I think doing quite a bit of creating for this musical. It's really frickin' awesome and I recommend checking it out!! Otherwise, I actually agree with Malkin on this. SO excited for disney, but I'd be lying if I said I almost wasn't even more excited for WWoHP I've been reading the books since PoA came out, and I went to buy Goblet of Fire on its first day. Huge love for HP from me!

Erm...Hi. I am the other half of Maki, Megpie, and this is the first time I have ever posted on this site... What can I say, I am more of a lurker from the shadows type. I just wanted to add my two cents in regards to Harry Potter. I am one of those horribly cliche people who can say quite truthfully that before Harry Potter, I had never willingly read a book. I hated reading, thought it was boring, and up until that point had only read the Disney picture book version of Alice in Wonderland (=D) until my grade 5 teacher read the HP: The Philosper's Stone to us in class. Now any of the Moonies can attest to the fact that I am a giant bookworm and there is not an inch of wall space left in my room that isnt covered in bookshelves. I love reading and its all because of J.K Rowlings Harry Potter and I can't wait to go to Disney World and WWoHP.


The other thing that renewed my interest was the fact that about a year ago, the Harry Potter exhibit rolled into town and set up camp at the Ontario Science Centre. So of course, all the Moonies HAD to go. This is where we get the story of I got so excited during the 'sorting' at the beginning of the exhibit that even though the MC/guide was picking children for it, I was jumping up and down and screaming enough excitedly that I got picked for the sorting too XD Everyone's expecting me to do the same at Ollivanders (and I probably will >.>) and hopefully get picked for wand-picking XD And we had to go together. It was in line at the event that I learned two things.

1) I was getting a new Lockheed (a purple "dragon" which is Marvel's Figment equivalent) to go with my Kitty Pryde costume that was far superior than my previous beanbag version. We were pplanning on keeping it secret until we gave it to her later in the year, but we caved XD

2) Chibi and Megpie were going to buy me a Time Turner for my birthday the previous December but had instead decided to go in with everyone else to buy the Lockheed.

Number 1 was awesome and Number 2 was easily fixed as we were at a Harry Potter exhibit with a large gift shop at the end. Only when we got all the way through the exhibit (where no photography was allowed, LAME!) and into the gift shop, Chibi told me that I was banned from buying anything. This anything included a Wand, a Time Turner and the Marauder's Map because "we need to save to go to WWoHP. You can buy them there. You're banned until we go."*

Now you'll have to remember by this point we knew that we'd be going in about a year based on the "Treehouse Discovery" but we had not booked, nor had we made any concrete plans.

Well she kept her promise that we would go. And I've kept mine, so in less than 2 weeks from now, my Time Turner ban will be lifted" and I will be buying everything at WWoHP in sight! I concur. Even though I have the stuff mentioned below, probably going to be spending most of my money at WWoHP XD

*In fact everyone kept the ban, except Jayuna's parents who bought her the Luna Lovegood Earrings and Necklace over Reading Week when they were in New York. My parents took me to NYC right before my birthday and I wouldn't cave (nor would they buy it for me, but they found it REALLY strange that I wouldn't buy it for myself). Let's just say there were a few car rides recently where I just had to state that fact over, and over and over again. So Jayuna and Chibi will be very happy when the ban is lifted and I shut up.

Now to get through this workday so I can go home, pick up the finally arrived Craft project for Chibi and I in the mail room (also Potter related) and decide on which of the T-Shirts we're making Megpie and Jayuna instead of the Frying Pan ones.

I was sitting on the bus into work this morning and just thinking about how much Harry Potter means to me personally and I just know that it's going to be crazy when we get there. I'm VERY likely to cry.

I'm also getting a successor at work (I'm on a 16 month internship) before we leave! I can't believe that Sunday is the first of May! How did it get here so fast!!!


The counter that says 3 days right now scares my poor brain that doesn't comprehend the numbers going away slowly. OMG LAST DAY OF WORK TOMORROW!!!

Sorry JMat! lol. Last night was a little too much excitement for us combined with an AMAZING night of Dr. Who and Starship Rangers by StarKid. (Needless to say I now need to make Malkin a puppet, and a spacesuit....) There was also quite a few shots taken of an experimental drink: Strawberry/Pineapple Vex, Peache Schnapps, and Tripple Sec... after about 4 they REALLY go to your head.

^wut wut wut you guys watched starship too????? DX I am jealous of your night. Doctor Who this week was so frickin amazing though <3 and I so so so want to try that drink! We better be making it again later!

And now:

IN EXACTLY SEVEN DAYS FROM THIS POST (or at least when I started writing this post) WE WILL BE ON A PLANE FROM DETROIT TO ORLANDO I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!! *squuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* *boom*

Probably a little excessive but...well that's just HOW excited I am today. Woke up on the air mattress beside Malkin today and basically just flailed when she mentioned that in a week we will be in WDW.

There's still so much we have to do, but we did actually get a lot of stuff done yesterday in the terms of craft projects and pre-packing of me and Tux.
Malkin's craft projects were the jars of glitter a few post ago. There were also pictures of Frying pans that would be going onto Tshirts in hopes we can get one of the Flynn CM's to say "Frying Pans...who knew right?" (which will make Malkin melt into a pile of glittery goo.

Malkin, myself, and Tux all have this shirt.

Megpie opted to get a customized shirt of her most favoritist person EVER. (The caption under it reads "Mistress of all Evil")

Jayuna's shirt is Belle (Also her fave. character) and also showing her love of reading. Ohhhhh!! It looks amazing you guys!! <3 Thanks so much!!


On Boxing Day (For all of our US followers its a magical holiday on the 26th of December that has AMAZING SALES. Sort of like Black Friday sales but not nearly as terrifying), Malkin and I found tshirts we decided would be used for our "airport" shirts. Unfortunately for Tux these were girl's shirts. So last night we fixed this 'problem'

The Pink shirt is is the original tshirt and the redish one is Tux's more manly version (which he actually did himself with a bit of help from Malkin' parental unit 1)

So that is the craft projects of the Tshirts that we now all have for disney! (though mine is a tanktop because I don't like tshirts lol)

Now the magical super amazing awesome will be coming to this mythical WWoHP place I keep hearing people talking about. Is.....

Two of these were made, not only will be keeping us company in the car (and my blindfold to go across the bridges), warm on the plane, and will be venturing to this mythical land to meet a bunch of new friends!

Sadly no the CD's are not free, there is a charge for them to burn it ...maybe $15? so if you have alot of memory cards, get as much on a cd as you can...but its a good option. In 2009 it did not occur to us to bring flash drives for back up. also, it was early in the day and Joe realized his camera was full. uh oh. so we were kind of stuck.


OMG three days!!!! did you do early check in? I didn't see it posted

No amount of magic lets you forget a loss, but hopefully it will cushion the blow for a little while

No, we're not doing early check in (though we could if we wanted to!! omg *dies*)

I think its easier to switch out if something is wrong? I'm not sure, Malkin knows the answer to that one lol and I'm sure she's in bed right now.

Over on the Beach Club/Yacht Club thread there was a whole long explanation about Early Check-In. They explained that if you had any specifics, it took more time to get them cleared up if they had already "cut" your room key. Since there are 5 of us and we NEED the right number of beds etc, and would like to possibly be facing Epcot and no where near Yacht Club's Wedding Pavilion, I was told by the nice Dis people that it was best to go and check in there. Also since we never got our Mickey Mail (yeah, not holding my breath on that one any more) I figured it made the most sense to just talk to the nice people at the front desk when we got there (and we've checked in at high time during large conventions, hotel check-in lines do not phase me).

They've released which movies will be playing by the pool when we are there and they are AMAAAAAAZING!

May 8 - Bugs Life (likely not going, so many more awesome things to do)
May 9 - Robin Hood (Magic Kingdom Extra Magic Hours until 2am so sorry Robin Hood, you'll have to fight the good fight alone!)
May 10 - Lilo and Stitch (YES! Ohana means Family and Family Means nobody gets left behind or forgotten!!!!)(also means "I wonder if there's a hot tub close enough to watch from there )
May 11 - Hercules (This too! Because we are on our way! We can go the distance!!)
May 12 - Tangled (THOUSAND PRECENT MANDATORY!)
May 13 - Incredibles (Will likely be doing Fantasmic instead. Were going to do it on the 12th but the "Smoulder" takes precedence)

So we're 4 days out of actually being in WDW and only TWO days out of our pre-disney fun at the Lion King! I've been busy all week doing last minute preparations with the high school for their production of Beauty and the Beast (I wish I could post a video here but they unfortunately had to sign a no photography/video contract). We just did the first performance today so in between shows I came home to work on something I've been meaning to make for MONTHS now!!

Our LGM's are finally done AND NUMBERED.
We're so close now I CAN TASTE THE GLUTEN FREE MICKEY WAFFLES!
