News flash - he is different. You don't think concessions would have been made for a woman president. Remember the pig and lipstick threads. Although McCain and Obama used that phrase prior to the WORLD even knowing who she was, it was interpreted as being about Palin. Regardless if Obama meant that toward her or not (I don't think he did), he sure didn't use that phrase again.

Yes he is different. I would hope that each of our presidents have been different than the ones before and after him. And I truly hope and pray that his race is not the only thing that makes him different and that it is not how he defines himself.
That doesn't mean he should be treated differently.

Whether concessions would have been made; I don't know. Whether the should have been made--No.

That isn't true.

There are plenty of people who listen to Sharpton. There are plenty of people that seek him out when things go wrong. When Sean Bell was killed, his family went to Sharpton and asked for his help.

People don't agree with his tactics so they want to push him to the side.

It's like Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X - WEB Dubois and Booker T Washington.

All of these men were working for the same goals. However, people were more comfortable with King and Washington. So they praised the actions/ words of two while condemning the others.

If people want to push Sharpton aside because of his tactics, then maybe that should send a message to him that he needs to change his tactics. I believe Martin Luther King wanted to change things for the better in a peaceful manner. I don't get that same feeling from Sharpton.

Your quote does not refer to the chimp cartoon. You might want to read that article again. The quote you referenced continued like this:
