Sharps containers?

This is the first time I've traveled since my boys started getting weekly infusions. We'll be bringing the supplies with us, but I'm wondering if there's anyway to get around bringing the large sharps container we use at home?

Housekeeping should be able to provide sharps containers for you (they have in the past). You just call and request one.

They make containers as small 1 quart and a British site sells them starting at .25 litre sized.

When I go on vacation I bring a small trial size of a laundry detergent in the hard plastic bottle to store them in safely. You can put the whole needle or buy a safety cut off clip that cuts the needle and put the needle in there and throw the syringe part away. My friend has her younger son use a hard plastic pencil box to store them in and when you get home to trasfer it to the container. Hope this helps

Most, if not all, hotels/cruises will give you a sharps container in your room at no cost.

Thanks again. I called the resort and they will have one in the room waiting for us. I know it's just a little thing, but I'm thrilled. We've got a ton of medical supplies to bring, and I'm thrilled we won't be hauling more.
