Just wondering what works better for autographs on t-shirts, sharpies or fabric pens? Does either last longer or bleed less?? Is there any other type of pen or marker that works better? I know that it all depends on the fabric you use, but I am hoping to use cotton t-shirts and also some type of a bag (canvas, microfiber...??) so I was hoping to get something that would work on both. I love the idea of using different special colors for different characters, as many of you have done here- just don't want to carry 130 different markers!!

Thanks!
Melanie

I'm wondering the same thing. Which will withstand washing. Also what type of point is best. Hopefully someone can help

Why not use a Fabric marker? It will hold up well when washing the t-shirt. You can get it at any craft or fabric store.

Where did you get it? Is it sold at WalMart or Target or at a Craft Store like ACMoore or Michael's?

i bought mine at K-mart, but i've seen them all over the place, like Wal-Mart and Acme (a regional grocery store). I found them in the school supplies section, near the markers and pens.

I need to get a fabric marker for our trip. I know we've had t-shirts signed at concerts, using sharpies. After 5-10 washings & dryings, the autographs are really faded & dull.

You can "set" sharpie with a vinegar wash just like your t-shirt transfers (or airbrushing). Most fabric pens only come in one color if I remember correctly. Sharpies come in a rainbow of colors.
