Sharks at Castaway Cay

As you walk from the dock area to the beaches there is a rather large and carefully worded warning sign informing you of possible encounters with sharks, sting rays, jelly fish, sea lice as well as other vermin.

Sea Lice.... Oh what fun!

The carefully worded sign also warns of Fire Coral. I didn't see any sharks or jellies out there, but I did touch the sunken submarine when snorkeling and got a painful fire coral rash on my arm. Don't worry about sharks- just don't touch anything and you'll be alright.

Our son caught a 35 lb. barracuda on the fishing excursion at CC.....most everyone onboard caught something.

Just remember, like bears, if you encounter a shark you don't need to be able to swim faster than the shark...just faster than the slowest person in your group!

Thanks for the pictures. I can't wait to show them to my DS. On the other hand, if I show him, he will be begging me to go fishing with him next summer for the next 10 months. I know he wants that shark.
