I got one for Christmas!!!:cool1: Are they REALLY safe for hardwood? Anyone use them?

What about on ceramic tile floors? We have them throughout the house and really need something that will get the grout clean. My boss has one and loves it for her hardwood floors. And she is really picky.

I use it on both my hardwood floors and my tile bathrooms. I think it works great on hardwood floors. Probably better than anything else barring getting on your hands and knees and rubbing with a rag. But, I don't know about tile. It is a great, quick surface cleaner for the tile but I don't think it is a good grout cleaner. To me, nothing works better than a bleach cleaner for tile and grout. The steamer is good for a quick spruce up though.

I use it on my ceramic tile once a week or so...and it works great. However, it doesn't really get the grout any cleaner than any other mop. I also have found that the floor looks cleaner after it dries completely---for some reason. I do like the fact that not using chemicals means it doesn't have a residue to attract dirt--so it needs mopping less often.

I've never tried it on hardwood because I'm afraid it would damage them. However, my hardwood could use it...the "orange glo" mop kit only gets it so clean with two small kids.

Best grout cleaner (I have tried many) is Zep grout cleaner. You can only by it at home depot. It is amazing however, if you use it, immediatley seal it. It is not a product you can use many time as the grout will disappear.

Love my Shark Steam Mop for my hardwood...but HATE the short cord. Can't even do my entire kitchen with it. I think the new one has the longer cord though.

I might have to get one of these.

Do you add water and then dump it like a rug cleaner? Where does the steam come from?

My dogs get MUD on the floor. We are being very good with paw wiping however, many days in a row of rain and my floors get pretty bad.

If I go over the mud, won't it smear?

My mom got one for Christmas.....I already asked her if I could borrow it. :lmao: I just have vinyl - but it needs a good steam cleaning!
