Hi,

I'm thinking of sharing some entrees with others in my party - can anyone who has done this share your experience? Was it a good thing? Did you take a picture? Would you do it again?

Thanks,

KC :sunny:

I'm not sure what the picture taking is about, but my DP and I share meals all the time, at WDW and otherwise. Most meals are too big, and we like to taste a lot of different things so that leaves room for appetizers and desert. We've always found WDW restaurants accomadating of that.

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

We share often, it's always been a good way to split costs and not waste so much food. Lots of the meals are large!

Not sure about your picture question...

We just got back - we shared 2 meals and both times the waiter/waitress screwed up our TS charge to our Dining Plan. We shared at 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi. Both places the theming is awesome but both meals were not great. I was glad we shared at both places after trying the food. I would have hated to waste 2 table services at each place. The food was not worth 2 TS charges to the dining plan.

Make sure when you get your receipt to sign for the dining plan - that you keep track of the number of TS and CS's that you have left. 50's PT charged us for 2 TS when we used only 1 (for a very dry plate of chicken & the worst green beans I have ever tried in my life). Sci-Fi split the bill right for me to pay for my drink by itself but then instead of charging us a TS to our dining plan - he charged it to our room. Almost $32 for a chicken sandwich, drink & dessert. Both times we were able to show our receipt back at our resort and get the amounts credited correctly. I even questioned the girl at 50's PT - I knew she charged us for 2 but she insisted that it was not her - it had to be someone else where we had ate before.

They have the option of either charging by the meal or charging by the number in the party - which she explained to me that she charged by the meal - yet when we got back to our resort - she had charged by number of people.

Be careful!

Ummm, sorry - I didn't think that, on this board, taking pictures of meals was considered so odd :confused3 . What I meant was, if you had your meal split between two people, did you take a picture of how they did it? There is an entire thread of pictures of peoples meals - what board regulars are calling 'food porn' :teeth: - and I know that I've seen at least one picture of how the fried chicken meal was split at the 50's Prime Time Cafe.

Just curious, that's all. Sorry to have so terribly confused some of you  .

OIC. I thought you meant taking pics of the people eating the food that you had shared or something. I thought that kind of odd! LOL! As far as taking pics of how they did split it I haven't seen any around here but I'm sure someone must have something. No need to roll your eyes at those of us you confused. While I do know all about food porn as I've been here long enough I honestly had no idea you wanted pictures of the actual plates that have been split.

The 2 times we split our meal - each different.

At 50's Prime Time Cafe - they brought us an extra plate for us to split ourselves. (3 pieces fried chicken, green beans & potatoes) -

At Sci-Fi - 2 different plates & the meal had already been split.

We split meals all the time. There is so much food that it seems a waste to order extra food. Don't worry about the staff frowning upon this. If they had negative feelings toward meal splitting, I would have never known.

well i must be odd casue i knew exactly what you meant :rotfl:

no pics but we share a lot...imo

the best place was BD as they plated both portions just like the original would have been so the presentation was great

worst was Lecellier, they just brought us another plate and the sides were tiny so we would get an additional side there if we wanted to share again

I'd like to acknowledge that I was pretty snarky in my response up there. I think I'm becoming way too obsessed on these boards - I've been getting crankier and crankier the past week or so. All the whoo haa about the November hours really got my knickers in a twist.

I think I'm going to put myself in time out for a little while. Seriously. No more posting from me for a week....

lurking, yes :teeth: - posting, no.

Hey, I was one of the ones confused and I didn't think you were being all that snarky, but I really do appreciate your apology. You must be a person of some character, lesser folk just keep trying to prove they're point of view or slink away all together. Thank you and good for you!

No problem and thanks for the apology! I know what you mean about obsessed! The closer my trip gets here the more I'm. I bet you won't stay in time out too long either! LOL!

Well, I stayed in time out, mostly (does it count when you post on a board you never went to before, and were really really really nice?? ) - and I promise to be a happy camper poster from now on.

Unless you pool hop, reuse refillable mugs, cut lines, or won't play nice  ! Hee hee hee . . .

DH and I split an appetizer at CG (ravioli I think) and they did the splitting in the kitchen. The waiter brought out a dish for each of us, perfectly plated and left us with the impression that splitting is done often and is not a problem.

It's not odd, it's the act of a WDW culinary aficionado (also known as a food porn addict). And yes, some have posted pics of shared food. Any picture of food is appreciated on the food porn thread...have to feed the addiction. :teeth:

This is the food porn thread, for anyone who hasn't seen it. Just be sure to eat before you visit. :rotfl2:

So totally understand your position...been there...lurked that. Also found that I needed to remove myself from local and national news for a while.

Now...on to food. DM and I almost always split meals. Sometimes they do it in the kitchen...sometimes we just get an extra plate.

There is NO WAY I could eat some of the entrees they have at Disney and not use my dessert space (which you should know is totally separate from appetizer and entree space)...and since I choose not to use up the dessert space we share.

I did notice that Shula's charges a fee...but after looking at their menu and reading about the size of the twice baked potato...I can understand that...I think there smallest steak is a 12 oz filet....so we will be splitting and paying the charge there....they have chocolate souffle which I understand is to die for!
