Ok, so for quick service meals, if memory serves, you get a decent amount of food. For things like chicken fingers, etc...my kids can actually split a meal and be full and happy. Is there anything wrong with just ordering one and letting them split the meal?

I hate being wasteful.

Totally allowed and IMO encouraged. My kids (8 and 5) still often share meals.

I think it is a great idea. I love to eat and even I can split a meal with my sister at Disney. We always agree that if we are still hungry we can get more... there is no law saying we can't go up and buy something else to eat. This just leaves us more tummy room to split a greater variety of meals and snacks. popcorn::

We also do this at Table Service (when not using the Dining Plan... and obviously not at a buffet) and have never had a problem.

The only places in WDW that I've heard not allowing it are Via Napoli and Beaches & Cream if you are on the DDP. If you are not on the DDP, the only places that don't allow sharing are buffets, dinner shows, and places like Akershus, LTT, and Ohanas that are all you can eat. Of course you also can't share the all you can eat skillet at Whispering Canyon.:rotfl:

As others have said, I don't think there is anything wrong with the kiddos sharing a meal at all! The QS meals are quite big, sometimes DH and I even split meals.

Did you mean Via Napoli? I know VN is very strict with people on the dining plan, but I hadn't heard about Tutto, although it's possible since they're both owned by the same company.

I can't imagine not sharing my Disney meals. When I went with my niece a couple of years ago she thought the kids nuggets looked icky. So we got an 8 piece nugget meal, 5 for me, 3 for her and we were both full and satisfied with the meal. DH and I at the TS restaturants will often split an app, an entree, and a dessert.

oops, you're right. I always get the two mixed up.:rotfl: I corrected it. Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing...it will be just me and my 9 year old daughter...i was thinking of using one of her QS credits for breakfast ( im not a breakfast person) and then at lunch use my QS credit and share the meal since they are big portions at most places...and then we will both use are table service credit at night...how does that sound???

But if your on the DP, i dont get the point of sharing to be honest. For breakfast, you can get quite a bit for a snack credit. A bagel, a muffin, a bowl of fruit for example. At the MK bakery there is a ton of options for breakfast for only a snack credit. For lunch you each use a QS credit, and for dinner you each use a TS credit. If for example you share breakfast with one QS credit as you had mentioned, you'd have so many QS credits leftover at the end of your trip. So i dont see how that makes sense. Your paying for the DP, you might as well use it. If you have left overs, you can box it up and eat them as a snack later on.

First and foremost, not wasting food. I hate to get two trays of food with large portions at a quick service meal and have to throw essentially one of them away.

But, there's another advantage. If we have a Table service for breakfast that all four use. We use 2 QS at lunch and all four are satisfied. We can still use snacks and arguably use the remaining 2 QS designated for that day - at dinner.... thus, we save money because we are not "out of pocket" at dinner.

What your saying makes sense. if you do a TS breakfast, then it makes sense to split the meals. But if your doing TS at lunch or dinner, i dont think it makes sense to split.

I actually don't think it matters which meal it is.... I think what matters is how much the family expects to consume during a meal. What I mean is, I expect that we will use all of our credits throughout each day, more or less. So, if I have a TS lunch, I might to a QS breakfast (share) and a QS dinner (share). Or, if we have an early TS dinner and I expect folks to be hungry later in the evening, sometimes it's nice to have extra QS credits that I've designated for that day available for use.

It's good to know sharing is allowed, not frowned upon, etc.

All is right with the world.
