Sharing what I got signed from guest services

OP, thanks so much for posting these! Our boys love vinylmation and this would be a great surprise for them on the Dream in August!

I'm concerned about the "two items per cabin" reports on the Dream. We have a family oceanview with verandah, which sleeps five. We have three boys who all love vinylmation, so it would be quite disappointing if they only allowed us to submit two vinylmation to sign. Any idea if they would allow three items for a cabin that sleeps three children?

OHere is what happened to me for everybodys concern regarding amount of items and not getting enough autographs. I had two rooms and dropped off eight items. No issue what-so-ever. 1 large vinylmation, 1 photo mat and three pillowcases and requested as many as possible. With the pink vinylmation I requested all princese. With the white vinylmation I requested fab 5. ith the glow in the dark I requested 5 specific characters ( my daughters favorite. I bribed them with 8 full size snickers bars and eight full size twix bars. I received them back two days before the end of the cruise. I was very happy with everything, except the glow in the dark It had only two signatures. What to do. So I took my daghter and had her ask guest services to request the rest of the fab 5. I thought they might tell me no, and would tell a little princess yes. So thats exactly what happened. She got it back the last night with eight autographs on it.

OP- did you use the fine tip sharpies for the pillowcase as well? I was looking at fabric markers - but don't think I would ever use those again - sharpies get used all the time in my house.

I had fabric markers in the bag but they used the sharpies.

We were on the Dream 3/20 and I wasn't aware of the candy trick. We just dropped off two pillowcases, a red and blue sharpie, and a note with my DDs names and our cabin number in a ziplock bag at guest services. We told them that we wanted all available characters to sign. When we got the pillowcases on the last night they were totally covered in signatures.

We are waiting to get our pillowcases from EBAY! When you send your sharpies, do you do fine tip or regular. I like the note idea as well, and of course candy!!!

I was just at the Disney store this weekend and was informed by one of the reps that WDW no longer allows vinylmations to be signed and this may be the case on the cruises as well. I see the OP dis get them signed. Anyone know details about this? I just purchases some for our cruise next week. Thanks.

:scared1: Oh, I hope that is not the case. I bought two 9inch Vinylmations costing $80.00 at Hollywood Studios for the cruise. My kids have been waiting over a year to get them signed on the cruise. If anyone knows more about this, please post.

I've gotten something signed before without bribery. I would have never thought of it had I not seen it on here. I do think it's a nice touch and will do it next time, but I think the 2nd or 3rd comment asking the OP if she left something in return was a bit tacky. But maybe I just read it wrong and that's not what she was insinuating.

We were not disappointed. Every spot on the frames and the pillowcases were filled. They looked amazing!
Glad to hear that! Can't wait to get this done.
BTW - I love your username. My step-brother's name is Dana and that is exactly how I say his name, with extra emphasis on the "nuh" part!

Here's our pillowcase from the Jan 8-15 Magic cruise:

That is AWESOME! Did you provide the markers and/or any treats? Also, are those Sharpies or fabric markers? I'm having a hard time finding a PACKAGE of colorful fabric markers locally. I can buy them separately, but that gets pricey.

We got a package of the Bic Mark-It permanent markers. The colors are fabulous! And, we got ALL of our markers back! :cool1: My kids hung the pillow cases on their walls, they didn't want to take a chance of the colors fading from being washed. I have heard you can heat set the color with an iron before you wash it, and it should keep the colors bright.

Oh I hope not! It took me months to find a 9" white one; it arrived today. :sad1:

I love this idea. I sure hope they don't stop signing them. We should all start emailing WDW telling them not to stop. I am having a hard time finding the solid colors of the Mickey Vinylmation thu. Our locate Disney store didn't have any and I am not finding them on their web site. Do the characters sign if you see them walking around as well? Or is the only way to get them is to drop something off?

Wonder if there is away to contact the cruise ships about having the charcters sign the vinlations
