Sharing TS Credits with another party

I searched and couldn't really find anything on this so thought I would ask. We are going on a trip and have 3 rooms with the dining plan purchased. My brother and his wife have to leave earlier than us and will have an extra TS credit each left on their plan.

Is it possible that my wife and I could use their left over TS to use at a 2TS meal by combining the one credit we have left each with their one credit each that won't be used?

Just curious.

I believe that you cannot technically share credits with people not in your room. If you were allowed to use their extra credit, you would probably have to ask for 2 separate checks on each KTTW card.

Disney's rules on the dining plan state that you are not permitted to use your DDP credits to buy meals for guests who are not on your dining plan or room reservation. That's the first thing. Seeing as you are family, going as a family group, and all getting the dining plan I think you might be able to ask about it while you are there. Do not be surprised if they tell you you can't do it though, because technically it is against Disney's rule.

However, the second part of your question may take some strategizing. First of all, your relatives' extra credits will be on their key card, not yours, and in order to use them you would have to get a key card from them and present it as yours. I don't know if this is permitted. However, you cannot take a credit from their card and a credit from your card and combine those credits for a two credit meal. Depending on how many credits are on each card, you could go to a 2 credit restaurant and take 2 credits from your card for one meal and 2 credits from their card for another meal, having one meal billed to each key card.

Thanks. I assumed as much but knew you guys would have the answer. Perhaps we will just try the 2 one credit meals on the last day as an option.

Are you all on the same reservation? IF you all have the same reservation number for all 3 rooms then all your dining credits will be on all cards, and THEN you could use any they didn't use.

keep in mind their dining credits will expire at midnight the day they check out - so they might expire before you use them if you don't use them earlier in the trip.

We are booked in one room and then DD's grandparents decided to come along. They are in a 2nd room but we were told we should have no problem using our credits in any order.

DGM can "pay" for all meals with her KTTW then the next meal I can "pay" for them all with ours. We don't go till September so we haven't tried yet but I was told that was perfectly fine. If that's the case your DB could just pick up your meal one time you eat together then you would have an extra 2 on your KTTW card after they've left.

You cannot do that as you cannot spend credits for people in excess of the people listed on the card.

So if 4 people are in your room, you cannot pay for 6 meals at once.

You can ask...but the servers at WDW are instructed to allow ordering only as many meals as you have people listed on the card. Can't guarantee they will let you do otherwise.

True! My husband and I took our 3 y/o GS down there this past Feb on the DxDDP. Knowing we were going to have some credits left over, we tried to order him an adult meal twice and both times were told we could order only what our card said. In our case that was 2A and 1C. The second time, my husband laughed and said fine, he'd like to order two meals for himself then. The waiter laughed and again said that we could order only 2 adult meals and 1 kids meal, because that was the number of people listed on our room key and they were not allowed to let anyone order more meals than what showed on that room key. The TS restaurants would not budge even on our last day, when they saw we had credits we couldn't use. The food court at POFQ did let us use up all the extra nine credits that day, allowing us to order six adult meals and three kids meals.

hmm.. is this the same for QS meals? we had 2 leftover on our last day and got 5 meals... there were 3 of us (well, 4 but my dd was under 3) they didn't say anything to us about over- ordering.

We have NEVER had an issue with over ordering either on our last 4 "3wk" trips also on the last 3 trips We have had 2 rooms 1 with myself Dh and 2 of our children in and the other with my mum and 1 of our children in, when going to dinner the server on many occasions took everything off 1 card and my mum when taking theboys off on her own was always able to order all the boys meals from her KTTWC even though it said 1 adult 1 child on! so im not sure how strictly its enforced must depend on server :confused3

If you are all booked under 1 reservation, the credits are shared among the rooms.

I think technically they are supposed to enforce it, but most CS restaurants do not. I know we have had credits left over several times and have been able to redeem them the last day. I just tell them we are leaving that day and want to redeem all the meal credits. I have had a couple places double check our check out date that's listed on the KTTW card to make sure it is actually our last day, but we've always been able to use up all our credits on that last day, no matter how many meals we have to order. As I said in my previous post we used 9 credits our last day to order meals to go at POFQ food court. TS restaurants are the only places we've been denied.
