So I had to share today's experience #1 so I don't forget and #2 because I found it to be so interesting.

We got into the parks sometime around 6:45 PM. Before this, we checked into POP pretty quickly and were thrown in a super far away building (my legs already hurt). But... Onto the park stuff.

We had originally set up a 7:05p fp+ for Little Mermaid (I don't know why I did that), 8:30p fp+ for SDMT and a 10:50p fp+ for Space Mountain (which we deciphered that my dad couldn't ride).

We ended up hitting up the LM fastpass which ended up taking maybe 10 minutes? It was our first ride and being a Disneyland vet I was totally comparing every second of the ride to DCA's version. Ariel's hair in the Under the Sea scene really freaks me out, but I liked her AA better. I also liked the moving effects of the "battle scene" of Ursula compared to what we have at DCA; otherwise I didn't see that much of a difference. After that, it was actually time for Mine Train, but we found the ride closed and were told that we could go to any of the attractions on the list we were sent after 8:30p (our fast past time) to close. We decided we were starving, so we headed to Pinocchio's Village Haus (another Disneyland staple; oops; there goes trying new things) and realized we would be fine eating kid's meals because the chicken tenders I ordered were just way too huge. From there, we decided to check out the circus area (seriously blanking on the proper name) and ended up at Pete's Silly Slide Show. This was the beginning of something that really pissed me off. The line for Donald and Goofy said 20 minutes while Daisy and Minnie said 25. I just wanted some character pictures (and love me some Goofy) so we went right. It ended up being almost a 30 minute wait while the other side was maybe 5 minutes? I didn't understand. And this is something we constantly encountered all night, from the Speedway to Haunted Mansion etc. The line for Speedway said 40 minutes and was literally less than 5. :confused3

Anyways, after Pete's, we checked back on the mine train... It was open! So, we got on that and it was pretty fun. I really loved the AAs; they are so well done. I'm really excited to ride it again later this week.

Throughout the rest of the night we went on BTMR, HM, Tomorrowland Speedway, Buzz, Space Mountain we saw the Country Bear Jamboree and we played Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom (aka: the most addicting, fun game ever)

The biggest difference and craziness to me was found at the Haunted Mansion. I seriously loved the ride about 100x more than Disneyland's. It could be the novelty, but I love how immersive the ride is from the start. I especially loved the scene with all the staircases! So different. Space Mountain was definitely different too! Plus, when we went last time, they had single rider... What happened to that?! That was totally my jam! :woohoo: But now it is no more...? I dunno.

Country Bear Jamboree made me miss the fact that it's not in California oh so much. I miss the California Girls song! And the three little buddies that now hang out silently at the Winnie the Pooh ride. Hmph.

Oh! Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. If you don't know what it is it's a short, cute little card game where you get to go to portals all over the Magic Kingdom with the cards you get (for free). Just go to the fire house to start playing and get ready to have an awesome time with your newest addiction.

By the end of the day we ended up having fastpass+ for Little Mermaid, mine train, big thunder, Little Mermaid, Speedway and I got to go on Space Mountain, too! Pretty good deal if you ask me. I'm glad our experience so far has been positively memorable!

Cool, hope you have a great trip. On our next trip we plan on hitting MK after our 10+ hour drive. We usually rest a little and hit DTD but this trip we are going to try to jam in as much park time as possible.

What time was the park open until last night? We are planning to hit MK our first night this trip - we also usually do DTD first day. But, we are flying this trip so energy should be high! Our flight is scheduled to land at 6:10 PM and our Fastpasses begin at 9:00, park is only open until midnight that night though. :( Would have loved a LATE night!

Sounds like a pretty good day. Sorry about the posted times for waiting being off. We always try to judge by looking at the lines as they are not always up to date since they are only set when you see a guest with those red cards.

Have a great rest of the trip.
