2 years ago (2008) we did a shared photopass with some people in the surrounding provinces (canada) to save money and cut costs on Photopass. I am wondering if people still do this? I know photopass has changed and one requires an email before arrival or something. We didn't end up getting the email, so we just didn't bother getting photopass last time.
But I really would love it this year, but don't want to spend the $150 for it. I know if we can prepurchase it's $100, but still. $100 for this, $100 for that ends up to being a lot. BBB, Pirates league, Wishes Dessert party.. just all adds up and I want it all for low costs ;) So wherever I can stretch a dollar I shall. Just was wondering if we can still do the Photopass Share.

Shares can be arranged on Facebook, they are not permitted here on the DIS any longer.

Anyone can pre-purchase the CD now for $99, but I do not have the link handy.

That is what we might have to go with then. I think being there the first week of Oct might give us less line ups then a cpl weeks before christmas. i hope.

How would one get those people on fb? I assume I cant go around asking people here if they want to be added to fb and then go from there. The menion of it itself isnt allowed any more? I could easily organize it through my personal email, but i dont personally know of anybody going to DW when we are.

I think if you just go on FB and search Photopass, one of the things that will come up in the results is the PP Share page - I haven't been there myself. Photopass also has an official page on FB but of course that would be separate from any shares.

Photopass share on FB is apparently an application between FB and PP to be able to share your pictures. Nothing to do with actually sharing costs of PP. Good to know of the application though! :)

Do a photo pass share search. You will come up with one that organizes shares. Search for your month of travel. I just signed up for one for Aug. We have 4 people so far but it beats the $99 all by myself!

I am not sure if I am doing this properly. I assume you mean in Facebook, and I try in the search box, but all that comes up is the offical PP page, nothing to do with the shares?
Sorry for my misunderstandings, is there any other ways to access this site?

open up your facebook account and search at the top for "photopass share." Look in the discussion tab and there's a bunch of them listed. Find one that's open and within your dates and post to the discussion group.

I don't know if I can post a link. It's not the "photopass application". That's for sharing your photos with others on facebook. hth.

I just found one this week. It was easy peasy.

Thanks for the information. We needed to get a photopass for our next this and this will really help!

We need to get lots of photos of our new grandbaby's first Disney trip!:goodvibes

I know these shares (now on FB) have been what people thought were a great value and worked out well for them but before anyone gets into one and gets 'lots" of photos of their trip just consider if you are willing on taking the chance of loosing those photos if the photo pass share doesn't go off well. Just here on the Dis there have been multiple stories of shares going bad whether they had been organized here in the past or on another site. If you have any hesitation at all about the possibility of it going bad loosing your photos just roll some more coins and pre order your personal CD. I am all about saving money but I just couldn't trust my memories to someone I never met until I seached them up online. I know no one asked for my opinion and if you don't want it that is really fine.

To the PP about Photopass Shares going bad. I do agree, this has happened and I have read some of the stories. I am, and have, been the one to organize the share. We don't want to 'roll a few more pennies' because we are talking about $80 in savings. We are a one income family that has to drive 7 hrs to fly to Orlando on the cheap (we are in Canada, drive to Maine) to save money. DD wants BBB and Ponies in DTD. DS wants Legos and The Pirates League. That $80 can go a long way. We budget, and try to save money where we can. These are pictures that are fun, but not worth $100 in my opinion. I have my camera, DH has his vid camera, the Photopass to us is just for fun. And hopefully we get a couple nice shots out of it.

But I do thank you for mentioning this. I think you can only make the right decision if it is an educated one. I read to learn as the one organizing because the people under my share are counting on me to get them their photos. I understand that responsibility, and therefore learn what to do and what NOT to do. :)
