Sharing DxDP

Okay....we're traveling with another couple. They have a studio, that I booked, in their name, and dh and I have our own studio. This other couple is more than a bit concerned about dining costs. I've been running numbers every which way for a week, trying to come up with the cheapest way to dine, but still meet my dh's requirements...he likes to eat at WDW, it's the only way I can get him to go!!
Today, I had a thought. If I book the deluxe plan, just for dh and myself, will we be able to use the credits for our friends as well? Most of our ADRs are one credit, we would actually have more than enough, allowing me to add a meal or two. Then, I would split the cost of the plan, so they paid half. It would save them about $200! So, at each meal, present my MB, for the entire bill, 4 credits are taken off?

I'm working on that too! We are planning an extended family trip for next December and I am a Dining is part of Disney person, but some of our group not so much. I am trying to figure out a plan that will give us more flexibility than just using the regular DDP, and think that if I purchase the DxDDP for one room, there will be enough credits to share. We can pay OOP when the family chooses to have just an appetizer for dinner.

We know sharing is fine in 2017. We don't know about 2018 yet. Rules could change again, or just different enforcement

Originally it was much stricter. Room says 2 adults, then that's all you could use

I figure we will see how it shakes out next year.
