Are you able to share a meal on the Dining plan? My husband and I typically don't eat a lot and if we have a big lunch I'm sure we won't be able to eat 2 whole meals ourselves for dinner plus dessert. Are you able to split a table service meal or is that a no-no? Also..are names attached to certain credits. My mom plans on coming with us but I know she wont be able/want to use all her credits. Would we be able to use hers?

Thanks ! princess:

Yes-we've had the standard DDP 5 times since Jan. 05 and my DM and I have shared meals as well as my DD9 and myself. This goes for 2 TS as well. Even with the inc. appetizer, it still can be plenty of food. Otherwise, we usually end up taking our desserts back to the room-and that limits us to non-ice cream ones.

Your credits will be pooled on your card(s). So yes, anyone with one of your KTTW cards can use the credits. I've even been able to use 1 more TS credit than we had adults on our card (my DNiece joined us mid-trip) While this techinically isn't allowed, the server had no problem with it. I even asked him if he could split the bill so we would be in keeping with the count, he said it wasn't necessary. This was at a buffet location, otherwise we would have shared the meal, that's what we did for the rest of the meals. This was in Sept. 07.

Actually, the rules of the DP are NO sharing. You don't have to use both TS credits at every TS, but if you use one, you could maybe order an appetizer. This is a sticky subject...I would say it's definately against the rules and "frowned upon". As far as using your mom's credits...I would say that it was up to her. In 2006 I had leftover TS credits that I used to pay for a couple's dinner that I didn't even know...it was fine with the server and dandy with the couple as well :)

Yes, while the rules may state no sharing, the 5 times we have used DDP we have had no problem. The servers were all fine with it. BTW, we did tip extra since we shared, just like we do here at home when we share. We plan on doing it again this year.

We also have shared many meals. I think the no sharing policy means no buying meals for more people than you have on your plan. (If there are 2 of you on the plan and 2 friends join you for dinner, you are not allowed to "buy" them dinner using your dining plan credits.)

Once you order your meal and it is served to you, it YOUR food. Share it however you want!
