Hiya All

My husband and I will be traveling to Disney at the end of the month. We are not doing free dinning, we took the room discount. Looking at food blogs the amount of food is a lot for us! Is it possible to share main dishes, or apps and desserts at TS? OR is this frowned upon? We like to eat lighter dinners (we never share at breakfast) and hope that this is ok.

Thanks for any thoughts you can share!

Yes it is fine. My son and I shared both an appetizer and an entre at Skipper's Canteen and they didn't blink an eye. Just tell the server you are sharing and they will bring you two plates. My son and I also always share appetizers and desserts. I'm a light eater as well and more often than not if we are eating at a TS I'm getting a salad or soup and an appetizer instead of an entre, then we will share a dessert if we want one. I also eat a lot of kid's meals, they have just enough food for me, as a matter of fact, in some cases I get fruit instead of dessert and carry that to eat later since I'm full from just the meal. I always get a kid's meal for breakfast if I'm eating a hot breakfast.

My (adult) daughter and I have shared at many Table Service restaurants. At some places it was split in the kitchen and at others the server brought an extra plate and we did it ourselves.

You cannot share and everyone will be charged at buffets (e.g. Boma, Crystal Palace), all you care to eat family style restaurants (e.g. 'Ohana, Garden Grill), fixed price meals (e.g. CRT, Akershus), Dining Packages (e.g. Fantasmic, Candlelight), special events (e.g. F&W events, dessert parties) and the Family Platter at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Just adding you can't eat off someone's plate at the few locations that offer a buffet and a la carte. You could share an a la carte option but if one person gets buffet and one al a cart you aren't suppose to take anything off the buffer person's plate.

Totally ok. On my last trip it was an appetizer bonanza at the Yak & Yeti. Not an eyebrow was raised.

We did this at Beaches and Cream. We thought we'd told the server that we were sharing the main course so we could justify each having a No Way Jose Sundae for dessert. Either she misunderstood or we weren't clear because she brought us just one No Way Jose Sundae, thinking we were sharing dessert too. "No, we DON'T share dessert!" gave her a good laugh, and she went and got us another one. But the hamburger was split nicely onto 2 plates with what looked like a full portion of french fries on each.
