Hope someone can advise on this.

DW has Walmart shares (used to work for Asda) and the current value (in $s) is about the cost of our hotel. Was hoping to sell and use without having to transfer back into £s and then back to $s, thereby losing money with both transactions.

Any ideas ? Thought about Fairfx but they only allow the card to be topped-up in £s. Is there another card that anyone knows of that will allow me to transfer the proceeds of sale onto it in $s ?:confused3

I don't know of a standalone card that does that.
You could open a US dollar account, and then get a debit card attached to that, and pay the proceeds of the share sale into it.
If it's just for one transaction it might not be worth the hassle of setting it up though.

Ah well....thought that in today's global economy this would be relatively easy but seems not. Looks like we can send men to the moon (OK, even that was 41 years ago) but I can't pay for something in $s with proceeds in $s without converting to £s first !!!
