I'm looking into joining the shareholder club (with the smaller number of shares), but the hotel discount seems unclear to me.

Would we get the 10% discount on a 5 night / 4 day package at DCR booked through their website without transportation (the default packages on the disney website don't appear to be described as classic or bella note), would I get the 10%, or am I mistaken and the default packages are in fact "classic" packages?

hiya
from what i can see, the basic package is the classic. no idea on the bella, can find no info on it at all!!
so, yes, if it was the basic 5 days/4 nights with no extra nights, u wud get 10% off - pretty sure thats right, as its how was explained to me!!
but, u have to phone up for it, cant do it online - think im right??
will be an expert along soon im sure to help more!!
im just waiting on my card now - bought my 5 shares & paid the money, its all been received and have my number, just want my flash shareholders card!!
hth

Hmm, glad you read it that way :) Having just re-read it again though, I've found yet another way of interpreting the text, which is that the 2 nights max thing applies only to room only? Or does the discount only apply to room only? I'm so confused :faint:

The actual text from the disney website says:

Receive a 10% discount at Disney's Hotels including Disneyland® Hotel, Disney's Hotel New York®, Disney's Newport Bay Club®, Disney's Sequoia Lodge®, Disney's Hotel Cheyenne®, Disney's Hotel Santa Fe®, Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch®.
For details on offers and bookings, call the Shareholders Club line: +33 (0)1 60 30 60 72.

On "Classic" & "Bella Notte" packages, excluding transport, on rooms only (offer limited to 2 consecutive nights and 2 rooms per stay). Available on all room types except Suites, Castle Club Park View rooms and Family rooms.
Prepayment according to the general sales terms valid at the time of booking. Offers subject to conditions, subject to limited availability at time of booking, cannot be combined with any other promotional offers. Not available on following nights: October 31, December 24 & 31.

i assumed it wud be, say, if u had an ap, or were going to get one, so u only needed the room, not room and park pass...... but am sure that sum1, or maybe more than 1, had booked just the room and booked it for more than 2 nights!!

very hard to understand, guess i 'glossed' over it, as i doubt we will get ap at all, so it wud always be a package we got......

I've never been able to work out exactly what the discount is :confused3 Sometimes CRO have said that it was better to use the Dream AP and others the Shareholders discount.
This year we got Davy Crockett Ranch for 14 nights room and breakfast only for approx £90/night :)

Wow, that's quite some discount!

We paid standard price for 4 nights at DCR with room, breakfast, tickets etc for 3 adults and 1 child and paid about £250 per night! Maybe we should look into annual passes ;) , although we usually only go twice a year max for about 5 days each time so I'm not sure they'd be worth it.

On another note, what's CRO?

Customer Relations Office... just the phone booking operator :)

I think it is the length of our stays that helps the daily price come down :thumbsup2 as our 11 day was slightly dearer but still a good deal.

When I enquired about shareholder discount for my stay next February I was told that the free night offer was a better deal than using the shareholder discount.

When I booked my next trip I was given 10% off the package (3 nights and 4 day park passes for 2 rooms.)

Before i booked our next Halloween Trip (the first one using the shareholder discount) i checked the *normal* price for 3 nights/4 days then took off 10% to have an idea about the supposed discount.
When i phoned to book the CM told me same price i had got and so i assumed it is 10% off your price no wonder how many days you are staying.
I may be wrong anyway:confused3

We always got exactly 10%. No matter if we stayed 2,3 or 4 nights.
But if they offer 3=2 or 4=3 than this deal is always better than the 10% reduction.
