Wanted to give an update on my quest for a better sleep.Have you tried a Magnesium supplement? I know others where melatonin stopped working and tried the supplement with good success using this one. Again if you're having consistent issues I'm sure you did but check with the doctor before starting anything.

glad it helped. Definitely talk to your doctor...maybe a higher dose will help? I know the bottle says the 2 pill dose is only 37% of your daily intake.Wanted to give an update on my quest for a better sleep.
First off, thanks to @han22735 !!... I bought the supplement you recommended here the same day you posted it LOL... and it works but... as the saying goes... "all good things come to an en..." well, it still works but it lost its effectiveness.. after 2-3 nights of taking it I fell asleep faster and, the best part: I slept for 7-8 hours straight, no waking up to go to the bathroom, which felt amazing for 3-4 nights...but after almost 2 weeks of taking it, it takes me longer to fall asleep and I only sleep for 5-6 hours straight... still better but it seems the body goes back to its usual shenanigans...
I was so ecstatic at the beginning because for a few nights I slept straight for 7-8 hours, an almost 100% improvement and I felt like crying of happiness.. but now its lost its potency it seems...
I'll keep taking it because as of today my sleep has improved a good 40-50%.. but it's obvious there's no clear cut solution that will solve my sleep issues altogether. Still, I'm grateful for the improvement. Thanks again.
Thank you. How many do you take? I'm inclined to take 3 but not sure if it'll have some side effects.glad it helped. Definitely talk to your doctor...maybe a higher dose will help? I know the bottle says the 2 pill dose is only 37% of your daily intake.
I tried the magnesium spray and it gave me weird dreams. I also have a weighted blanket which seems to workThank you...have tried melatonin with little to no results.. I'll try this one to see how it works.
I dont use my phone a couple of hours before going to bed. Also don't have any caffeine after 4pm (I do drink 3-4 cups of coffee, which might be a problem) and I almost never drink alcohol except when on vacation. I go to bed almost religiously at 10pm, fall asleep around 11 and wake up 5-6 am. Like clockwork. The magnesium has helped me sleep straight without waking up, but still, 6-7 hours is never enough for me. I also walk 7 days a week, 3-4 miles.. I'm thinking I have a disorder and need to go see a sleep doctorDon’t take your screen to bed with you - I’m surprised nobody has mentioned it yet. Blue light is a major disruptor to natural sleep cycles. Force yourself to wean off and you will experience a difference. And if you have any other devices in your sleeping area with LED lights (a digital clock or even the power display on a tv) cover them during the night.
Def reduce the coffee and see if that helps. 4 cups is a lot.I dont use my phone a couple of hours before going to bed. Darn. Yeah, I'm starting to resign myself to the idea that this reality comes with age and biology and there's little we can do about it.I’m 67, take magnesium and B vitamins for nervous system, and then just accept the idea of sleeping in two sessions. I go to bed around ten, wake around three, get up, have a cup of coffee, which oxygenates my old body, read news or whatever, just enjoy the quiet evening, listening to the owls, then back to sleep from about four to seven. That’s eight hours of quality sleep. I got an oura ring to confirm that.
That’s what works for me. Believe me, I’ve tried everything else under the sun. BUT…the two or three days before a full moon — forget about it. It’s like I’m plugged into a light socket all night. I just accept that.
I think this will be me once I retire. I'm not sure how the split sleeping will work right now. Some nights are better than others sleeping through until about 4/5AM but then there are other nights I'm up at 230 and not falling asleep again until about an hour before having to get up for work.I’m 67, take magnesium and B vitamins for nervous system, and then just accept the idea of sleeping in two sessions. Much too warm for me! It also feels a bit claustrophobic because it's not easy to move around. For those of you who use weighted blankets, are they hot? We live in a very hot climate (we've already reached 99 degrees-in March!) and DH is afraid that a weighted blanket would be too warm.
Newly retired. I usually have 1 bad night a week where I have difficulty falling back to sleep. It's less aggravating now, since there's no urgency for me to get up in the morning. I usually wake up once or twice during the night and am pretty successful in falling back to sleep. When I'm not, I just accept it. I usually will fall back to sleep around 5, but then force myself to get up around 8. I immediately get up and go on my treadmill for 4 miles. I'm a creature of habit and enjoy getting the things done that I hate out of the way so that I can enjoy the rest of the day!I think this will be me once I retire. If I were able to get up around 230A and do whatever for a few hous and then go back to sleep around 5A for a couple more hours, I'd be good. And I'd really like the quiet time of those few hours.
