Share your Sharing Stories/Tips!

I am going in less than 2 wks and I we were planning on sharing TS's too (too much food otherwise). I would be extremely interested to hear from anyone who has done this recently. Otherwise we may need to revisit some of our TS ADR's.

Thanks,
Melisa

I really don't know why they would care if you are sharing or not.
Often, if people don't share, they end up having to pay more to cover everyone's meals.

Perfect example of why disney would care. Family of 4 disney adults buys the dining plan. They use CS for breakfast and eat a TS for lunch and dinner each day. Since the plan includes only 1 TS, the family pays OOP for for their lunch each day. Family 2 likes to eat the same number of meals but instead of paying OOP for lunch, they all share at dinner and use only 2 credits so they can use the other 2 credits to share at lunch. Disney gets no added dining revenue.

Again that was just an example, not everyone divides their meals that way. Also what some people save on not paying for an extra meal goes to other merchandise in the parks, etc. However, what I am saying is that it was reasonable for Disney to expect that each person would use a credit when dining. If they wanted to eat more than one TS per day, the family would pay extra for it. Disney could now require each diner to use a credit to prevent sharing, but like many aspects of the dining plan, I don't think disney foresaw this a san average use of the DDP (and maybe the average diner doesn't and that's why no manadatory credit usage).

I'll be going in September and will be back Oct 1st. I'll let you know how it went okay. I really don't know why they would care if you are sharing or not. :confused3 It's really all the same, plus your not wasting food.

It's a revenue issue.

The resturant is not making any MONEY off of you. That's why some resturants charge a "fee" for folks to just sit there and take up space. (And that's not just Disney, I have seen it in other places)

And at Disney where reservations are at a preiumum and they KNOW they can sell that seat to someone who will spend money.......

Just my gut feeling that had the DDP been used as expected there probably would not have been so many changes and rumored upcoming changes. I think sharing is one area where diners in the long run hurt themselves and others. But that is just my thought.
