I will be attending the MVMCP for the first time this year :cool1: We enjoy a "full out" UG touring plan kind of approach to the parks. Not so much because we are rigid, but because we are more comfortable knowing what and WHEN we are doing things. With that in mind, I would love to hear from other "super planners" in regards to your touring plans for MVMCP.

Thanks!!

Anne

I usually plan out everything for the trip but... this is our first Christmas trip, a suprise for our DS, my birthday trip, and we are going to MVMCP the last full day we are there so we just decided to relax and feel the magic of the party. We'll have already had a full MK day so we'll probably just hit the rides DS wants again, enjoy the parade, cocoa, etc... The only definate thing we planned was going over to Whispering Canyon for a late lunch before the party and then hopping over to the festivities. I'm so excited I can't wait!

OK, I don't have my final plan in front of me, so doing it by memory.

Arrive at MK at 4:00. Ride some rides, probably Fantasyland, then Adventureland.
Go to LTT for 5:55 AR (arrive at 5:30, hoping to be seated a little early)
Exit LTT as close to 7:00 as possible, go get our picture taken at Hall of Presidents.
Head over to Tomorrowland for Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas at 8:15 (I think) during first parade.
Watch Wishes at 9:15 from Main Street. Get a good spot for the second parade at 10: something? (Probably will send sister with dd on Buzz while I attempt to hold our spot for parade, or shopping so dd doesn't get bored waiting)
A few more quick rides.
Show at the Castle at midnight.

That is our plan! We will try to squeeze in a few rides, but we are not there to ride, just to enjoy the holiday celebration!

Its impossible to get both rides and special holiday shows done in one night. The shows are on a schedule, and it seems you are always going from this show, over to that, oops.. theres santa goofy, gotta see him, missed the 2nd show, so lets ride, now its time for Wishes and then the parade.. Then its like 11 pm and you wonder where the night went.. ( you HAVE to stop and get cookies and cocoa at every chance..hehe) Soo.. what we did last year was go to 2 parties. One night we did parade, wishes and shows, the next night we did parade, wishes and rides. It worked out great. Right now we are going to the Nov. 29th party.. Im really really thinking I want to go to the first one too. I dont want to feel rushed trying to fit it all in. I want to walk slow, see the characters, hang out behind dumbo with the kids and let them dance. I need 2 parties!!

A hint.. dont waste time seeing the country bears during the party. They show the special holiday version from Thanksgiving on... so catch it on a non party MK visit1

How do you know the schedule for the party? I'm a newbie to the party too and I have no idea what Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas is!

I am so psyched for this party! I went to MNSSHP this year with my DH and DS for the first time and had a blast. My sweetheart DH is "letting" me go with my best freind to WDW  (just us women...no kids!!!), and we are hitting MVMCP! I couldn't believe it that my DH was a little jealous that we are going to MVMCP, I think my love for WDW is finally rubbing off on him! Well my best freind is a little WDW nuts too!
We are totally hitting the rides. You may see us tornado by you as we grab a cookie and keep running!! We may look like middle aged women (pushing 40 <gulp>) but we feel like little girls!WAHOOO!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

2 goals, 1) rides 2) late parade :cheer2:

You get a schedule when you walk in the park. I have mine from last year, and really, I dont think they change too much..

Anyone know how long Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas show and the Belle show are?

Trying to figure out what order to do these in! THANKS!

Here's the general outline of my MNSSHP plan, which may be of some use (all times are approximate):

4:00 - 6:00

Get to park close to 4:00, clear bag check and turnstile
Do those things that can only be done during this time:

- watched a marching band on Main Street
- took pictures that required daylight
- went on rides that weren't going to be open during the party (Jungle Cruise and Carrosel of Progress)

6:00 - 7:00

Low crowds, so hit major attractions. This is kinda tricky, since events might not happen as you've read and planned for. I read all about being herded to one land of the park while the park is decorated. But nobody was sending people out of Frontierland, and they sure didn't seem to be sending people into it either. So those of us there had super easy walk-on for Splash and Big Thunder Mountains.

7:00 - 8:00

Busiest time of the night. Good time to eat (Pecos Bills) and hit the less popular attractions (Small World, etc.)

8:00 - 9:00

Somewhat low crowds, time to hit more major attractions (Space Mountain, Buzz, etc.)

9:00 - 10:00

Fireworks.

10:00 - 11:00

Shopping + Parade

Seeing the parade from Frontier land worked well, as the parade ends soonest there. I could have spent less time camping out for a good spot - my view would have been almost as good had I shown up at the last second (same goes for fireworks).

11:00 - 12:00

Park really starts to empty out - good time to hit the really popular rides. Pooh and Pan had the longest lines throughout the night, but were walk on after 11:30.

Note: One thing I learned is that (assuming you can be there from 4-12) you could do just about everything and never deal with crowds or wait in a serious line. Oh, there were some crowds and lines at times. But you could just skip whatever had the line and come back later when they were gone.

So I never planned to have my free photo taken. Must have walked by the spots a dozen times as I went around the park, but didn't stop in because of lines. But then I happened to walk by a spot that was empty and went in then.

Candy trick-or-treating was the same. They were pretty busy early in the night, but empty later on. Will it work the same with cookies at the Christmas Party?

In any case, I would make sure any plan is pretty flexible.

It would work for someone NOT doing any of the Christmas shows. Thats the difference between MNSSHP & MVMCP.. all of the christmas shows are on time schedules, where at halloween, you ride, trick or treat and see characters at your own pace and around the parade and wishes.

If you want to see the shows, you will need some kind of plan.. which for ME, never works great because rides, characters, food, bathroom breaks always get in the way of trying to be at that next show in TEN MINUTES! lol

If you are only there for the rides, then your schedule would work .
