:wave2: Hi everyone! I would like to know which dessert are a must have while walking around the WS at Epcot. I'm putting together my laminated noted cards so I won't forget what to pick up or try along the way. I am also trying to find out where can I find the puffed pastry, I think it's called the school house bread or something like that. Can anyone help? If you have pics of this dessert and others of WS desserts please post them here. Thanks!
Kim

Oh, I had school bread for the first time last month. Get it in Norway. Really, really good. My must have are the hot glazed pecans you get at one of those little carts.

I agree ..the school bread is great and HUGE. The 3 of us couldn't finish it all.

And I don't think you can wrong with any of the pastrys in France. ;)

Thanks. I love those pecans too and have learned how to make them at home. I also worked at SixFlags theme park for a while and learned while watching the attendant make them. I ususally make up batches for the holidays and give to co-workers and friends. They drool over them!

mmmmmm...school bread from Norway. :cloud9:

Excuse my dumb question, but what exactly is school bread?
THanks.

I remember seeing pics of them on one of the many food threads and it looked like a huge puffed pastry that is filled with something. It looked so yummy and the posters raved about it. I haven't had one yet so I cannot be sure. I will know come this June though :thumbsup2 I can't believe some of the things I missed while working for the mouse years ago :confused3 It's just one of those things I will have to have, just like the infamous Dole Whips yuuummmmmmmmmy!:yay:

I must have a crepe with chocolate and strawberry sauce in France. Yum.

OK now my snacking around the world list has grown tremendously!!! How am I supposed to be able to eat my dinner at LeCellier if I fill up on schoolbread, napoleans and crepes with chocolate and strawberry sauce!!! I want to try them all!! I hope the kids are hungry that day... I'm thinking I will buy them and take one bite and make the kids eat the rest. LOL. It all just sounds so good!

That's the one problem with Epcot, there's just too many tasty places to eat at!

I wouldnt get it confused with a pastry. It's really just like the name says...bread. I think some people are disappointed to find out that it is not a donut or pastry food, though the photos would certainly make you think otherwise. It's filled with custard and topped with custard and shaved coconut. The ones in Epcot are much bigger than the ones in the real Norway.
One of my favorite desserts was the berry tart from Kringla but I think they have changed it since I was last there. I need to try out the new version.

You weren't trying hard enough! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seriously, I get a couple and take them back to our fridge and have it for breakfast the next day, too. Like a big ol' donut in mah belleh!! :woohoo:

I get one in one week!!! :dance3:

Here's a picture of the Napoleon from France for the person who asked about it. I LOVED it! The strawberry mousse behind it was ok too but nothing compared to the Napoleon.

The Kringla Bakery in Norway is also home of our favorite sugar-free dessert in WDW - the dark chocolate mousse. Hubby is diabetic and really looks forward to this.
