Shaping up for 2.0

I have walked 1.24 miles today. (.97 this morning before work) and the rest at lunch. I now have a blister forming (ouch!):scared1:

Moving my body has been great the past few days during my four day Memorial Day holiday break from work. Variety of walking, biking, hiking, swimming and gym work. I hope I can keep it up during the work week.

Working hard at watching what I eat and writing it down. I got a calorie count book. I think the math will bring scary reults!

Next goal - get more sleep. Stop reading the disboards. Sign off of chat on Wednesday by 9:30. If I am still there - kick me off!

Got in a decent workout today, ran 2 miles in just over 16 mins and maxed out on my bench along with some core. Finally!! I've been feeling lazy

nothing but rain here all day today, so couldn't get out for a walk. I did however manage to stay away from the snack machine!! :thumbsup2

I got the anniversary present I asked for today, so I went through the first day of the thirty day challenge in EA Active. I really need to figure out how to keep that leg strap thing from sliding. She kept telling me off for not running fast enough while I'm frantically trying to refasten the velcro.

Definitely more of a workout than Wii Fit, and it managed to overcome that pausing that I didn't like in Fit, so I think I may have a winner here. I agree with MonkeyPants, though; the included resistance band is really wimpy, even doubled over. Gonna need to find something else for that.

Anyway! 15 minute walk + 25 minutes of Active = 40 minutes/100 for the week. My eating was all wonky today but since it was a special occasion I'm not inclined to get upset about it. Back on plan tomorrow.

Sounds like lots of people had a good day, too. Here's to a good tomorrow. :wizard:

Ok, here's this weeks goals.

Limit myself to one soda a day.

Drink lots of water.

No junk food lunches.

Try to do some more (any) exercise.

Look at this daily to remind myself.

Wish me luck

Good luck, hunny! :lovestruc

WTG on all the exercise over the weekend! I hope you are able to keep it up this week!

I definitely need to check that game out!

My eating yesterday was the best since the cruise. I had a splitting headache last night, so no exercise. I hope to at least get a walk in today.

O.K. guys just thought I would post and say I weighed-in at WW this morning.
I lost a half a pound while on Vacation for 15 days.
So needless to say I am very happy about this. :dance3::cheer2::banana::)

Hi guys!
Well I went to Weight Watchers this morning. :thumbsup2
I almost fell off the scale, when the lady that weighs me in told me what I weighed in at....
I lost 1/2 a pound in the 3 weeks I was gone. :yay::woohoo::dance3:
15 days in WDW and cruise. :thumbsup2
I had so many desserts that I did not think there was a chance that I was going to lose weight. However I figured I had not gained more than a couple of pounds as my new clothes were still fitting comfortably. :thumbsup2
In the 5 weeks pre-trip I had started a new weight loss pan.
I was feeling great and found it very easy to follow.:banana:
During that time I had lost 10 pounds, 27 inches total off my body, 4 inches off my waist, and 2 clothing sizes smaller. :yay::woohoo::dance3::)
Needless I was very happy about this. :)
When I came home I had no trouble getting back on my weight loss plan.
27 pounds to go!! :woohoo:

:worship: That is SO awesome!!!

YOU ROCK!!

Walked for 30 minutes this morning and another 15 minutes at lunch. Step count was 4500 steps don't have the mileage but approximately 1.5 miles.

Anyone with a Wii planning on getting (or have already gotten) EA Active? I've read good things about it. I was totally addicted to Wii Fit before I hurt my foot in March, and it sounds like this is way more of a workout.

I have Active, I tried it once and it definitely gives you a workout! I actually am planning on doing it tonight rather than the Fit because it has volleyball and cardio dance on it that I want to try out. The leg strap is a little annoying because it slips off, I'm guessing it's the material of my sweat pants? I'll try it a few more times and give a review if anyone wants me to.

Oops, sorry MonkeyPants didn't realize you started reviewing Active. Hope you don't mind if I add some comments as well? :)

I went running for 30 minutes, just did 60 crunches (I've never done that many :thumbsup2 ) and watched my calories.. I went over by 50 but considering I ate seminar food for breakfast and lunch I think I did oky

I just started with Active yesterday and I've tried two different pairs of pants so far with no luck. I'm starting to wonder if I'm not wearing it high enough? I dunno. For the record I tried sweat pants and thin cotton pants (pajama pants, actually). Had sliding both times so far. We should compile a fabric test encyclopedia for all the podcast Active-ers. :lmao:

That's really great! What plan are you doing? WW?

I did day 2 of the EA Active 30 day challenge today. Soooore muscles (but in a good way, I guess). So I'm up to 60/100 minutes exercise for the week. :wizard: I'm enjoying it a lot, but I hafta admit I'm happy tomorrow is a 'rest day' on the schedule. I need to remember to stretch after working out, too, or my leg muscle will remind me I didn't when I'm trying to sleep.

Eating's back on course today, so I'm happy about that, too.

Well, i had a pretty successful day. Took a 30 minute walk at lunch, and avoided all sweets at an office party. I only did take a little of salad, no croutons though. Congrats to everyone else on a great day. :woohoo:

Too rainy for lunchtime walk.

Worked late. Got Chinese food for dinner break. Should have been plenty leftover for lunch... but I ate it all!!!

10:30 - not doing well at gettting more sleep!

Better do better tomorrow.

Hi folks...

In the effort to keep things neat, I am going to merge this thread with the other Shape up Thread and name both Week 1.

When week two starts....can we rename the thread as oppsed to starting a 3rd thread?

Thanks,
Kevin

I wanted to chime in to say something that might help put some perspective on goals.

If you put a lot of goals for yourself for a week, it's difficult to attain them all. Instead of saying you'll drink more water, exercise more, skip the snacks/vending/fast food...

Pick one goal for yourself for the week to start out. Just one. Start small.

It could be the water drinking. It could be moving more. Heck, you could get up during TV commercials and jog in place to start small. If you can manage to keep up with the goal of the week, I believe you're more inclined to stick with it.

Just remember: Perfection is not attainable. If we don't meet a goal, we shouldn't beat ourselves up over it. Start fresh the next day. This is such a common thing, and we're all allowed to be human.

I felt that I needed to bring this up so that when we do something we think is "bad", it shouldn't torpedo our efforts to keep going. By starting small, we can try to meet more goals.

This week was probably a big week of eating for many, since it was a holiday weekend. If we made choices that curbed some of the bad habits, it's a victory. If not, the question I ask is: "Did you have fun?" If the answer is "Yes", then you're enjoying life, and there's nothing wrong with that.

FYI: I had made sure I had enough points to be "bad" this week, which meant that I could eat the lasagna, the ribs, and the desserts I normally wouldn't have on a normal basis. I'll find out on Saturday if I lost, gained, or stayed the same. But whatever the case may be, I will not stop doing what I'm doing just because I splurged this week.

I've found that losing it slower makes me keep it off over the long haul, and I don't deprive myself if I make smart choices.
