I had to share this with some who might understand: I'm a bit bummed out. We got home late from taking dd to soccer practice and I had a voice message from a friend who said they had a last minute cancellation in their new weight watchers meeting (that I didn't even know she was doing) and she wanted to know if I might be interested in taking the place of the woman who dropped out (and had already paid the dues). This is a friend who has no idea I am starting to work on losing weight. She did say "Not that you need to" on the message (thank goodness dh didn't hear the message). She is such a sweet person and I know without a doubt that she didn't mean any harm in asking and was just trying to be nice, but it really kind of shocked me - Does everyone think I need to loose weight? How big am I? I figure I need to loose about 30 lbs. 35 would be even better. I'm just glad I wasn't actually there to pick up the phone, because I would have been taken aback and not had a chance to think about how to react. It just was a dose of reality when I didn't expect it.![]()
Know what? I wouldn't take it as her saying you, specifically, have a weight problem. Almost every woman I know wishes she could lose a few pounds, even the ones I consider 'skinny.'
