I'll be in South Korea in the fall. I was initially going to go to HKDL then thought maybe SDL until I saw this. We'll be making it a side trip so maybe HK or Japan. Thanks for the input! I'll start looking into Japan now too!

If you have the chance at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea do that. I've never been but I'd much rather go to Tokyo than Shanghai or Hong Kong.

If you're seriously looking into Japan as a side trip, I'd recommend it much higher than the other resorts. Tokyo Disney Resort is the best in the world by far, and the rest of Tokyo is awesome as well. I've been there 4 times and planning to go back again in November.

Not trying to sway your decision but me personally I would love to have the bragging rights of visiting a park on opening year! My mom says I went to Animal Kingdom in 1998 but since I was like a year old I don't remember. That's honestly just me but I'd thought bringing it up might be a good idea

You are right - they do. But call it what it is - Disney was never about providing a vacation to the lower class. It's always been a middle and upper class destination.

Absolutely. I don't understand people who feel like Disney vacations are some sort of "right" they should be granted. They're better vacations because they cost more!

That's not a bad idea at all! We like to have all of pro's and con's on the table. It's interesting to watch the parks evolve over the years too!
