Shallots?? Anyone in DFW who can help?

I just returned from a WDW trip and had that YUMMY salad at Le Cellier with Pecan Shallot Dressing. I got the recipe and want to make it....but, I cannot find Shallots at any of my grocery stores (I live in Highland Village).

If anyone knows where I can find some, please let me know....I am craving that salad!!

If you can't find shallots, you may get by with small, sweet onions (good luck though, they are generally available April to August).

Maybe try Sprouts. It is at the corner of Morriss Road and 1171 where the Winn-Dixie use to be. I was in there on Saturday and they had alot of things I didnt think they would.

Good prices on fresh vegatables too. I was impressed. Also very clean.

BTW...Congrats on your next post. You will be at 2500.
Also, O Canada is playing on Live365.com as I type this. Maybe this will bring you some good luck at Sprouts.

Shallots look like onions, yet have the flavor of a onion garlic cross. They would be located near the loose onions and garlic in the produce section.

I always sub green onions for shallots in recipes. I saw green onions in the grocery store last week.

I bought a bag of shallots at Costco right before Thanksgiving. Good luck.

Thanks everyone!!! I will certainly try Sprouts...that is really close to me...and, I didn't even know it was there (only lived here 2 months).

I was at Sprouts yesterday and I did not see any true shallots but of course, I was not looking for them. The best produce I have found in the area is at the Tom Thumb on 407. I am right across from Marcus in Chaucer Estates, right down the street from you.

Whole Food Markets is pretty cool. It is in Plano and a bit of a drive but it is neat. The recipe section on their website is pretty cool.
