Maybe you guys can help me!

I've been going to Zazzle for making shirts for a while now. I hate Disney Inkshop because I cannot customize the shirt's text. I have to use predetermined text that I can't stand. So I uploaded a cute picture of Mickey and Minnie and made my own shirt. (On the front it said "Love that is true never grows old" and on the back "Dave and Liz's New Years Eve Trip 12/28 - 1/4" so it was nothing obscene or anything like that)

They sent me the shirts in the wrong size! They sent them in L, we need 3x's! So I went back on and reordered them in 3X and got ready to send the larges back. Then, my order got canceled due to copyright violation. How they didn't catch this the first time is beyond me, especially concidering I got the shirts with Disney Inkshop tags on them!

So now I don't know what to do. I adored Zazzle's quality and how it was actually screen printed onto the shirts. Getting it screenprinted here in town would be ridiculous because they'll charge 100 for the setup. Pretty ridiculous for three shirts (He designed another one that's supposed to be a secret to me!). I'm scared to iron on transfer because A. they generally look really bad and B. they start to go away in the wash!

So does anyone have any suggestions to what I could or should do? What did you do if you had personalized Disney Shirts?

I followed Kate's instructions for making (ironing) my own shirts way back in May, and my shirts turned out great. They wash up fabulous and still look fresh now. I used dark transfer sheets (worthe the extra $) and followed directions carefully.

I wouldn't give up the idea so soon!!

We bought raglan t's which are white... would the dark transfers still work?

Post the Pic you are going to use.. but ya, you should be able to use the dark paper.. just might need extra cutting out and trimming.

Here's the two t-shirts...

Here's the original:

Difference between light and dark paper..

light is clear, so all the colors would be printed, but any "white" you have in the image would show through.. thats why they are for light shirts..

Like in your first picture.. in the word "grows" the center of the "O" would be whatever color the shirt it.. if it yellow the yellow would show there. Not a problem with light shirts. (though you would still have the clear film over that part.)

Dark paper is NOT clear, its white, so all the colors would be the same in the first picture, but the center of the "O" in "over" would be white..no mater if the shirt is red/black/whatever.

This can be good sometimes.. depends on the design..

Say you have a dark red shirt.. do you want the first pic on a white square? or do you want the framed mickey/minnie there and then JUST the text/colored designs there? with the dark red showing through the center of the "O"?

Some people think dark is better no matter what and will cut out the whole design..removing all the white.. lot of work though.

Of course you could put a cool frame around the whole design/words and it would work very well too..

I would go with the light with those designs myself.. see if you can find anywhere with a heat press that can apply them for you. I have a local farmer's market here where i can print my designs and take them and the shirts down there and give them a couple bucks and they will press them on for me with thier heat press.. gets the perfect heat and presure. never had a problem with mine.

Good luck!
