Shaken, Not Stirred, With a Twist of Pixie Dust! A Food and Wine Trip!NEW! Pgs.75,76

Can't wait to hear about the ADR you kept and why you didn't keep the other popcorn::

Will there be another ptr soon?

The one we didn't keep is coming right up!

There will be another PTR soon -- hopefully as I am finishing up this trip report.

All caught up!!! Great updates! You and Charles look like you are having fun! The food looks fabulously yummy!

Hi, Lisa! We were having a lot of fun stuffing our faces with food.

Love the Little Red Robin costume! So cute! I love the Haunted Mansion night too! So fun! My DD-13 would love to do that!

Thank you! Chelsea loves her costume, and we had a lot of fun with Haunted Mansion day!

That is an hysterical exchange! The drink looks delicious! MMMM, wish I could have one!!! Maybe my DH and I should try a trip by ourselves!!!!:yay:

Thanks! :goodvibes That's exactly how it happened, too. Charles and I hadn't been to Disney by ourselves since 1995, and we really enjoyed our weekend getaway.

LOL! Poor Charles asking if he was dull. Of course not! The food all looks yummy. :) I would've gotten a second Dragon Berry Colada as well. Looks delicious!

If Charles only knew how much entertainment he provides us on the DIS! Let's just say that the second Dragon Berry was not my last...:rolleyes1

I realized that I have too many pictures of our evening for one update, so I am splitting it up a bit.

Around 3:30, I woke up from my nap feeling so much more refreshed, but Charles was still fast asleep. We had originally booked a 4:30 Teppan Edo reservation (that was the only time they had available when I booked in July), but we had decided we weren’t going to do it -- we were finding plenty to eat at the kiosks.

I figured Charles could sleep a little longer, so I grabbed our mugs and the camera, and set off for Old Port Royale. It was the perfect time for browsing through the gift shop without feeling rushed by Charles.

The view across the lake.

I had a lovely, unhurried stroll and a wonderful time puttering around the gift shop. Apparently though, there is no cell phone service inside Old Port Royale. As I exited my phone began to ring. It was Chelsea squawking at me, “Why didn’t you answer your phone???” There are times when I feel like I gave birth to a mini-version of my mother. I wanted to reply, “Because I am on vacation,” but I was nice. We chatted for a few minutes about our days.

When I got back to the room, I woke up Charles, and we headed back to the bus stop.

I might be embarrassed to admit that I took a picture of the themed Coke machine, but I know some of you do it, too. (You know who you are! ;))

I loved how the Caribbean Beach Resort bus stops had posters with all sorts of information about the islands.

When we arrived at Epcot, I was stunned at the masses of people entering. I knew Friday night and the weekend were busy during Food and Wine, but I don’t think I had ever actually waited in the bag check line! It was insane, but Charles and I were determined to enjoy ourselves.

Good evening, Spaceship Earth!

UP NEXT: This Time We Really are Headed to Canada!

I am a firm believer that if workplaces across the world had themed coke machines that people would become much happier. :thumbsup2

I am SHOCKED that Charles gave up Teppan Edo! Shocked! :scared1:

Aren't tween-age daughters so much fun! :rolleyes1

Yikes about the crowds entering Epcot! I hope you get to try lots of good stuff!

Denise

OHHHH CANADA!

I'm glad you got your shopping time while Charles napped. Isn't phone service strange at Disney? There have been many times that we have either missed calls or couldn't reach others. Go figure!
Caribbean Beach looks quite pretty!

Was Chelsea afraid that you were having too much fun? Had forgotten about her? Perhaps she was missing you!:goodvibes

I had a fun time browsing the gift shop at Old Port Royale - I think I bought more there than at any other shop.

I loved those coke machines too. ;) But I didn't take a picture... :rolleyes1

Isn't Charles-the Teppan Edo King...or something like that...:confused3 Can the King miss his dinner there...;)

Poor Chelsea-I think she was missing her mama...;)

Sigh...I don't think I ever noticed the soda machines that much...but I guarantee I will be noticing them next time...soda machines and light fixtures...hmmm...the inlaws are going to think I've gone mad...:lmao:

Love the coke machine....I remember noticing the one at FW but not taking a snap.

We had spotty phone service as well, texting was more consistent than the actual calls.

No Teppan Edo?

Wow.

Great post! Can't wait to hear what fun the evening entailed! I enjoyed checking out the grounds and the different areas around the CBR as well...

Can't wait to hear about your new trip plans too! :goodvibes

Did you find Barbados noisy?

I know you said that you didn't mind the location.

That walk to OPR is far to some, to me it's nice and relaxing. It's a probably a bummer to those wanting to refill their mugs....

CBR is so beautiful! Are you considering staying there next year?

Eating around the World Showcase seems like a much better option than an ADR. I'm curious to see what foods you tried for dinner.

Bummer that you missed Teppan Edo but I know you guys have eaten there before and sometimes you just need to relax when you're on vacation! Even a Disney vacation!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your night at Epcot. I hope you get more adult beverages so I can add some more to my list for December! LOL :santa:

I too am shocked that you ended up skipping Teppan Edo...but sometimes its just nice to relax and just go with the flow!!

What lovely pictures of the resort and I have to say I'm another huge fan of the themed Coke machines!! Great stuff!!!!

EPCOT was crazy that weekend! I knew it would be but still...lots of people!!

Looking forward to more!!!

Cute coke machine!! I probably would have taken a pic of the coke machine--I take pics of everything!! :rotfl2: Sorry Epcot was so crowded! I hope you still had a great time!!

I think relaxing and going with the flow is the way to do it! And there was so much yumminess at F&W!! And of course you know you'll be back relatively soon so there's always next time!

Hmmm you're heading to Canada. Isn't the dragonberry colada in that direction? ;)

I have not once taken a picture of a drink machine.

I have maybe done it six or eight times, though. :)

The pictures are beautiful. When you look at your pictures, can you just sense how it all felt? The warmth, the sounds, the breeze, the smells? I just love pictures! I would love to be walking the path beside that lake this morning. I have only seen CBR from the OPR side. I have only been to Caribbean Beach to eat, take pictures, and shop, but I haven't walked over to the areas where the rooms are. I've only gone as far as the beach. I'll have to stay there someday to be able to take my morning walks and see it all. Brooklynn would love the new pool.

F&W had more than enough food to keep anybody from having to have a reservation. It is nice to just be able to go with whatever seems best at the time and not be completely devoted to a plan.

You know I meant to take pictures of our themed coke machine but never did. So I guess I'm one of those people now.

I suspect you are heading for some Cheddar soup in Canada.

4:30 is not a great time for an ADR. I don't blame you for blowing it off. Especially during the F&W festival.

I love CBR! It is such a pretty resort! Love the pics!

Love your phone call! So funny!

CBR looks so nice - I am contemplating staying there next fall with Sadie, so I am so excited to see your pics of it!

I hope you had a nice night at Epcot....and that the crowds weren't too bad!

Brook - we did a costume party and I went as Dora and DH went as Diego. not too hard! A friend of mine stuck those "Hello my name is..." stickers all over with different names written and went as Identity Theft. or a bunch of little cereal boxes with plastic knives stuck in them, with red paint = cereal killer.
Just a few ideas...

Those are GREAT ideas!! Thank you!!!!! That reminded me that a couple years back I saw a guy with Smarties hot glued to his pants...he went as "Smarty Pants".

I really appreciate this, you've got my wheels turning now....

Slower, maybe, but none of us gets tired of looking at photos of our favorite place and finding out what you did. I am still giggling about Henry's ride on the Barnstormer. :goodvibes

Exactly - I never mind reading a slow going, or drama free report! It's about WDW? I'm in!!!! :yay:

I'm really curious to see if Henry will ride it in December, or if he will remember the torture I put him through!!! :rotfl: ;)

Charles, the King of Teppan Edo, allowed it to be CANCELED?! Wow! But, I suppose-he had just eaten there not long ago, and all those F&W booths....:cloud9: You don't always get those choices!!

I might be embarrassed to admit that I took a picture of the themed Coke machine, but I know some of you do it, too. (You know who you are! ;))

:rolleyes1

I'm with LL, themed Coke machines at work would make for a happier workplace! But, they would have to be themed with beautiful things, like the beach, foreign lands, and WDW! ;)
