Shaken, Not Stirred, With a Twist of Pixie Dust! A Food and Wine Trip!NEW! Pgs.75,76

That drink looked DIVINE! :goodvibes So yummy!

One of my goals this trip is to try a few more of those adult beverages...I never seem to get to them, but darn it, I am going to have those drinks! :lmao:

Have a great week!

I don't want to hound you about another trip or anything, so let's just play a game.

Finally all caught up again. That's the down side of actually visiting WDW. You get behind on the dis.

We started our trip around the world for the F&G on the other side. We never made it all the way round. So I'm glad to see some of the offerings in your TR.

Yes, I did get the same earrings. I haven't seen them in a while. I guess I'd better check my daughters jewelry box. Sometimes things have a way of ending up in there. I suppose it's Karma. I did the same thing to my Mom.

Jackie, I'm going to get the chanting started......

And I'm joining in the chant

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I guess you all want me to make a ticker? ;)

Hopefully very soon your wishes will all be granted!

I don't want to hound you about another trip or anything, so let's just play a game.

MeMom, this is awesome! Of course, I was playing right along with it, filling in the blanks -- I couldn't help myself.

Poor Charles. Of course he isn't dull! I am so bummed b/c I never did try that dragonberry colada. :headache: I'm going to have to go back! I wonder if the recipe has been posted anywhere.

It sure was hot, wasn't it! I ducked into Mexico more than once to "escape" and, ok, to get a margarita.

BTW- loved your Halloween/Haunted Mansion TR interlude report. Your house is so much fun. Please adopt me!

I have been keeping my eye out for that recipe -- pretty sure I could live on those things throughout the entire summer!

Please, let us adopt you! I just know you would be the fun and crazy aunt!

Did you answer your husband's question about being DULL?

I believe my response was, "I did not say you were dull; I said you were behaving yourself. Quit twisting my words!"

What a lovely morning! Your pics are fab!

Thank you!

Too funny about your comment catching up with Charles. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Marc does that all the time. It takes like 10 or 15 minutes for him to get it. Pffft. ;)

Sometimes it happens on my end, too, where I am only half listening to Charles -- one morning he asked me if I was ever going to answer him without waiting five minutes in between (as if he shouldn't know better to try and talk to me while I am DISing ).

I don't blame you for not sharing your alcohol at all! Smart choice.

All the food that you took pictures of looks so YUMMY.

Nope, not sharing the drinks -- food I had no problem sharing.

It was all very yummy -- well, except for the Chinese stuff -- I really wasn't wild about that.

Great update! The food looks yummy. I totally understand your comment about Charles not wanting to share food. I live with this everyday! Can't wait to hear more.

Thank you! I was surprised that Charles shared as well as he did because he HATES to at home!

OMG! that totally looks and sounds like something I could have for breakfast! I really want to figure out how to make one of those! Super Yum!

It was so good! Just wait until you see how many times we had to visit Puerto Rico in those two days. :rolleyes1

Dull? :rotfl2: Why would Charles ever think that????????

Seriously though - I do not think Charles is dull. I do think that a calm, relaxing trip without any drama is not quite as good of a read as a trip filled with meltdowns and drama. Personally, I think my trip was a little dull for the same reason. We got along too well and things went perfect.

That is so true -- I kept waiting for something mildly catastrophic to happen because things were going just a little too well.

I do like Shocker's comment.....:lmao::rotfl::worship: That could be interpreted several different ways! ;)

::yes::

I am dying to hit up F&W one of these years but this is my EXACT fear of going with Greg! Have you seen the episode of Friends where Joey yells "JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!!!!" This cracks Greg up every time because it's his motto too. I would be OK with not sharing the drinks however ;)

Yep, that is Charles, too! LOL! I really thought he was going to make a big fuss about sharing food, but he did really well at it. I can't complain.

So I LOVED Connor's "buried with all my body parts" line -- TOO funny :rotfl:

I can't help but laugh everytime I think about it!

And I missed that colada too, so guess I will have to go back NEXT time... we did try chile, BTW! The mojito's were very good :upsidedow And I agree with you on the potstickers, they were good, but nothing amazing... and of course the margaritas are the staple of Mexico in the World Showcase :)

I can't wait to hear how you side stepped Charles' comment

I do hope they have the coladas next year. ;) Yes, margaritas are a staple -- I know Charles enjoyed his.

I think I accused him of twisting my words!

I agree with Mary Ellen, a trip report w/o drama perhaps isn't as exciting to read. Just know that I'll keep reading anyway. I just want to know all about you trip and I enjoy your writing!
You really deserved a drama free trip, really you did!

Whew! I am glad you are going to keep reading even without the usual Diva acts. :rotfl:

All of the food looks so yummy!

So funny that Charles asked if you thought he was dull. I hope he understood that there were lots of DIS people that want to see the food :rotfl2:

Did you have any ADRs for this trip?

The food was quite tasty!

Yes, I think I managed to make Charles understand the necessity of taking pictures for the trip report.

We had two ADRs -- one we kept and one we didn't.

We just don't know how to act without having the kids around.... fun and yummy update Jackie!

Isn't that the truth!? A couple of times Charles and I were at a loss -- not too often though. ;)

I had an empanada on Monday. It was good, and fortunately mine was not burning hot. It was pretty big in size, though, so since Jill didn't want any, I threw a few bites away. Jill and I each had a bite of the seared beef with mango sauce, and Bella ate some of the sweet potatoes.

It was nice to see your F&W pictures, as it made me feel as if we had just been walking those same paths. :)

Weren't both of those just delicious? I do love looking back at the pictures and remembering what fun we were having!

:rotfl::rotfl: I loved your description of meeting the Dragon Berry Colada! I remember reading the description on the sign and I wish now that I had tried it! I have only one trip planned for next year but you can bet that I am going to save up my points and get down there for another F&W and do it all over again!

Looking forward to Canada and the Geese! :rotfl:

I so wish I could do our long vacation during Food and Wine -- it kills me that there isn't enough time in October for us to do that!

Canada and the Geese may have to wait an update -- I have too many pictures for just one update so I guess I will be breaking them up.

Ahhhhhhh.....the Dragon Berry Colada. I know someone that rearranged the group's direction in World Showcase later that night just so she could have one :rolleyes1

What??? I don't remember it like that at all! ;)

HOLY HAUNTED MANSION OVERLOAD!!!! I'm totally going to that site and printing off everything I can on Monday!! Thank you Jackie!!! I don't have that particular CD yet, however it is on my Christmas Wish List so let's hope Prince P pays attention LOL!! I have seen Haunted Mansion Clue at Toys R Us and everytime I want to buy and I never do....I am going to cave one of these days LOL!

I just knew you would love all the Haunted Mansion fun! I am making Charles a list this year of things I want for birthday/Christmas -- he tries but sometimes he just isn't quite as successful as I would like -- so I am going to help him out.

Love Chelsea's costume, I too am wondering if Connor has found anything yet he loves?????

Not yet and we are only five days away at this point!

Loved this update!! The food looks so good and really makes me wish I was back eating it LOL!!!! Didn't try any drinks but that one does look yummy I am glad you enjoyed it!!!!

Me too! Everytime I look at the Food and Wine photos, my stomach starts growling. LOL!

Yum, you were able to try a lot of yummy foods! And that colada looks devine!!!

Denise

I was very pleased with how much we were able to eat -- Charles being willing to share was truly the key to our success and trying of lots of yummies.

Red Riding hood is absolutely adorable and as photogenic as ever!

Thank you! Chelsea is so pleased with her costume this year.

I hope Conor has some luck this weekend, we had a struggler this year as we. Actually we still have one as we aren't willing to pay for the costume Kendall has picked out, too pricey!

No success on costumes for Connor yet. :headache:

I love those cupcakes! How very fun. I might have to use those for Eric's class party!

Thanks! They would be a lot of fun to take to a class party!

Another great Epcot day. Charles' comment cracks me up. Clearly no one could be dull after 2 Dragon Berry Colada's!

Plus his glass of champagne and his margarita. I don't know where he put it all!

YUM!!!

All of your food looks delicious!

Thank you! It was very tasty!

I love how fast the sharing lasted!:rotfl2:

It's funy that it took Charles so long to realize what you had said.

We did share our food -- just not the drinks. LOL!

Took Charles from the outpost to a bench in Italy to realize what I had been saying. :lmao:

Hi Jackie! Just trying to play catch up from the week! Your haunted mansion cupcakes are adorable! Such a cute idea! Chelsea's costume is too cute and hopefully by this point Connor has found something! (Haven't got that far in your TR!) All of your food sounds/looks amazing from the F&W Festival!

Hi, Jess! Thank you! We have had a lot of fun this month!

If I had consumed that much alcohol in one day, I would not be able to walk back to the room for a nap!:lmao: And my DH gets a case of the stupids when he drinks. He's not loud or stumbling, but I could talk to him about something for 30 minutes in extreme detail, and an hour later he would ask me about that same topic as if the earlier conversation never happened. So I think we will pass on the wine part of the F&W festival!:rotfl: But the food part looks like a winner!

:rotfl: I am not a heavy drinker by any means, but I do enjoy a nice frozen beverage from time to time.

You could definitely enjoy yourself with just the food -- in fact, on Saturday, we only had a couple of drinks and ate a lot.

Haha! This is too funny!

Your dragon berry colada looks so good! I could go for one of those right now! And I would love to try that beef tenderloin with sweet potato. When I went through the menu online, (dreaming of a trip I'll never have, :rotfl2:) that was one of my top picks to get!

The beef tenderloin was good -- Charles is more of the red meat eater than I am, but I thought it was good -- the sweet potatoes were delicious!

the way you describe charles is cracking me up....no meltdowns and he doesn't share his food well. :lmao:

Almost like a toddler, right? :rotfl:

that dragon berry colada looks sooooo good! i can't wait to go to the festival someday! if ray and i happen to get pregnant this spring, we may change our trip date to early october instead of december because i'd be WAY too pregnant to go in december. if so, we'd get to go to the F&W festival. of course there would be no wine (or adult beverage) for the preggo, but can you imagine eating all that yummy food pregnant??? :cloud9: we're hoping it happens sooner than that though.

I would have been in seventh heaven at all those food kiosks when I was pregnant. So yummy!

Lots of pixie dust for a baby on the way very soon! :wizard:

Hmmmm I really like the sound of that Dragon Berry Colada, yummmmmm :goodvibes

Oh, it was so very, very good! You'll see just how much I loved them later on. ;)

All the food looks so good! I would love to go during F&W but that will require me to move down closer to WDW so I can go for a long weekend like you guys since it would be nearly impossible coming from NY. Oh darnnnnn guess I'll have to be closer to WDW then ;)

Another excellent reason for moving closer! :thumbsup2

Berry Coladas..mmm....the food looks great...

Those Berry Coladas were like manna from heaven!

Dawn here is some pixiedust:and I will send some prayers your way in hopes that your wishes come true. I think you will make an amazing mom!!

I agree!!! ::yes::

Hi Jackie! What a GREAT report so far! Glad you like Caribbean Beach! Food and Wine looks amazing! I cannot imagine drinking too much in that brutal heat though:scared: Glad to hear that Charles was behaving himself:thumbsup2 Looking forward to more!

Diane

Hi, Diane! I think that is one of the reasons we had to head back for a nap!

Charles' comment cracked me up! And I'm joining in the chant

But how typical of him to try and twist my words, right? ;)

Just getting all caught up! The start of your day at F&W looks great and that Berry Colada looked yummy. Chelsea's costume looks great. Has Connor had any more luck in finding a costume?

Hi, Figment! Those Berry Coladas were worth their weight in gold! :thumbsup2

No luck for Connor yet -- I have nicknamed him the Costume Diva because he doesn't like anything. :sad2:

Yummo, I really need a F$W solo trip next fall. I would just be so happy!

Food and Wine was so much fun -- I wish I could go every year.

Yay! I'm finally caught up!

I will definitely have to sample that dragon berry colada next week! Thanks! :thumbsup2

The heat can really take a lot out of you... glad you decided to take that siesta.

Kathy

The siesta worked wonders! Yes, you must try a Dragon Berry! They are divine!

I think we should have a round of dragon berry coladas all around...:goodvibes

You always have the best ideas, Patricia!

What is it about men and food sharing? Eric will do it grudgingly but I don't get with the big deal is?...:confused3...sometimes I will want to split a dessert at the end of a meal...and he won't want anything...so I suggest we split something...and he tells me to get my own...but it's so much nicer to share...:confused3...what's up with that?

Poor Charles-doesn't he know your audience demands food pictures?....:lmao:

Yep, that sounds just like Charles -- I was so surprised that he actually shared all the food items! He did good for the first part of the trip. ;)

The food looks amazing and you're making me sooooo hungry!

I make myself hungry everytime I load pictures. :lmao:

I am enjoying your TR, Jackie!

:welcome: Elin!!! I am so glad you are enjoying it! :goodvibes

I hope Connor has been able to find a costume. I remember when the right costume was the most important thing. (Heck, I don't think it was all that long ago!)

We are still having "difficulties" deciding -- if he doesn't decide soon, he will be making a Frankenstein mask out of a brown grocery bag.

Those dragon berry coladas look wonderful!

They were the epitome of wonderful!

I've had this sitting on my bookshelf for ages, and haven't started it yet. I bought it awhile back at a used book sale. I may have to pick it up.

Oh, Crissy, I know you would love it! You must read it when you get a chance.

That drink looked DIVINE! :goodvibes So yummy!

One of my goals this trip is to try a few more of those adult beverages...I never seem to get to them, but darn it, I am going to have those drinks! :lmao:

Have a great week!

Make a drink list -- that's what I always do before we go. :rotfl:

Finally all caught up again. That's the down side of actually visiting WDW. You get behind on the dis.

I remember feeling like that when we got back at the beginning of the month.

We started our trip around the world for the F&G on the other side. We never made it all the way round. So I'm glad to see some of the offerings in your TR.

Are you going to do a TR? I want to see what you ate...::yes::

Yes, I did get the same earrings. I haven't seen them in a while. I guess I'd better check my daughters jewelry box. Sometimes things have a way of ending up in there. I suppose it's Karma. I did the same thing to my Mom.

Chelsea and I tend to do this a lot -- right now I am wearing a pair of her Mickey earrings. :rolleyes1

I just found your tr and I'm loving it!!

:welcome: Thanks for reading!!! :goodvibes

Um.....I would like one of those drinks from San Juan please!!!

I could stand to have a couple right now myself!

:rotfl: I am not a heavy drinker by any means, but I do enjoy a nice frozen beverage from time to time.

Love those Haunted Mansion printables! I got an e-mail about that site, but haven't made it there yet. Looks like DS and I will have some activities to do! :thumbsup2

I love reading about this trip! You're sampling so much, and I do appreciate that you took the photos. Even if your husband thinks you're crazy. Or that he's dull. :lmao: Poor guy. The DIS boards is giving him a complex.

I can't wait to hear where you head after you rested. :goodvibes

Chelsea looks darling in her Red Riding Hood costume! Very cute, and original! I don't recall ever seeing a Red Riding Hood. Sorry to hear about the Costume Diva though. Joe and I have not figured out costumes yet either. Friday is our church party, and on Saturday we have a costume party to attend. NO CLUE. I haven't even thought about it much. Thankfully, 2 years in a row we have pulled off great costumes at the last second-so hopefully this year we can be as resourceful. (we were nerds the first year - so easy to do! and last year we were the "2nd Amendment", which is "The right to bear arms." We strapped teddy bears to our arms!)

Sounds like a very nice start to hitting the Food & Wine Festival! All the food looks so stinkin' good. The crowds look low too-were they?

I was laughed out loud at the comment to Charles, and his response 15 minutes later!!! :lmao:

I understand though-this current trip I'm writing had little to no drama, while it was a VERY enjoyable trip because of that, it sure makes for a slower TR!

I like MeMom's "fill in the blank" game. :goodvibes I have to join in on the chant as well...ticker, ticker, ticker! Did your summer plans for Key West drop, or are you adding to them?

Brook - we did a costume party and I went as Dora and DH went as Diego. not too hard! A friend of mine stuck those "Hello my name is..." stickers all over with different names written and went as Identity Theft. or a bunch of little cereal boxes with plastic knives stuck in them, with red paint = cereal killer.
Just a few ideas...

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: If I drank that much I wouldn't be moving -- I have about a two/three drink limit!

Love those Haunted Mansion printables! I got an e-mail about that site, but haven't made it there yet. Looks like DS and I will have some activities to do! :thumbsup2

We had fun with them! I had to make the bookmark for myself. ;)

I love reading about this trip! You're sampling so much, and I do appreciate that you took the photos. Even if your husband thinks you're crazy. Or that he's dull. :lmao: Poor guy. The DIS boards is giving him a complex.

Nah, I think Charles has always had that complex. LOL! Charles was a good sport about me yelling, "No, wait! I have to take a picture," everytime we sat down with food.

I can't wait to hear where you head after you rested. :goodvibes

Hmmm, I wonder...:rolleyes1;)

Chelsea looks darling in her Red Riding Hood costume! Very cute, and original! I don't recall ever seeing a Red Riding Hood. Sorry to hear about the Costume Diva though. Love both those ideas from past Halloweens -- I bet you and Joe were hilarious! As you saw over on Wigd's thread, we know have an idea -- just have to get it together.

Sounds like a very nice start to hitting the Food & Wine Festival! All the food looks so stinkin' good. The crowds look low too-were they?

The crowds were pretty low that Friday morning/afternoon -- it was the last time it was quiet at Epcot while we were there.

I was laughed out loud at the comment to Charles, and his response 15 minutes later!!! :lmao:

It's so typical of him.

I understand though-this current trip I'm writing had little to no drama, while it was a VERY enjoyable trip because of that, it sure makes for a slower TR!

Slower, maybe, but none of us gets tired of looking at photos of our favorite place and finding out what you did. I am still giggling about Henry's ride on the Barnstormer. :goodvibes

I like MeMom's "fill in the blank" game. :goodvibes I have to join in on the chant as well...ticker, ticker, ticker! Did your summer plans for Key West drop, or are you adding to them?

I think we decided to skip Key West -- I just can't stay away from WDW for that long! ;)

I love the Identity Theft one -- how funny!

Can't wait to hear about the ADR you kept and why you didn't keep the other popcorn::

Will there be another ptr soon?

All caught up!!! Great updates! You and Charles look like you are having fun! The food looks fabulously yummy!

Love the Little Red Robin costume! So cute! I love the Haunted Mansion night too! So fun! My DD-13 would love to do that!

[I took one sip of that Dragon Berry Colada…

Me: Oh my! (Sip)
Charles: What?
Me: (Sip) Oh my! (Sip)
Charles: WHAT?
Me: (Sip) I (sip) think (sip) I (sip) am (sip) love! (Double sip) Here, try it.
Charles: (Sip) I’ll be right back.

That is an hysterical exchange! The drink looks delicious! MMMM, wish I could have one!!! Maybe my DH and I should try a trip by ourselves!!!!:yay:

LOL! Poor Charles asking if he was dull. Of course not! The food all looks yummy. :) I would've gotten a second Dragon Berry Colada as well. Looks delicious!
